    a good match for me.

I think you might be ok with a .45. If you get the right gun (think fullsize, a la XD 45 Tactical, etc.) and don't go with very hot loads, it's a surprisingly soft shooter IMO. You can probably track down some lighter 12ga loads as well. This allows you to purchase once and then work up to...

    Custom CZ

Dude that is awesome. I recently (6 months ago) picked up a 97B and I LOVE the gun. It is the most accurate 45 I have owned. CZ overall is the main reason I am now getting into reloading :) Can you give us some pics of what you did with the bushing? I am having trouble picturing it...

Remington Arms under fire for malfunctioning 700 Rifle

I watched it. They are blaming the trigger mechanism itself along with the safety and they have footage of rifles firing without contact with the trigger. Of course it was one-sided, no comment by Remington, but the evidence looks damning. I don't argue with previous posts about muzzle...

    Chokes for Clay games

I am new to clay games and I recently picked up a Browning Citori 12 28". I was wondering what your recommendation might be for chokes. I'll primarily be shooting trap and sporting clays, maybe some skeet. I was wondering whether it would make sense, say for sporting clays, to install two...

    Heavier bullet = less recoil?

I think the experience of more perceived recoil on a lighter bullet is true for a single round and similar velocity targets. That is, I would not say that a .38spl recoils more than a 454Casul but I would say that within a specific round, this is true. A .45 ACP golden saber in 185gr will give...

Times Square non-bomber had an EVIL gun!

Of the gun, he said, “It may well have been an indicator of putting something catastrophic in motion.” WHAT? Really?

    Laser or Light for HD?

I like a laser. The crimson trace is bright enough that in low/no light, it will actually light up the target itself. Not like a surefire 120 lumens, but enough to see what you are shooting at. I vote laser for that reason.

I've about convinced myself I want a semi auto carbine.

I will throw in another vote for the newer model Mini 14's. I bought one in February and I'm very happy with reliability and accuracy out of the box. I've been shooting the hotter M193 along with some Fed Am eagles and over 1000 rounds with no stoppage or problems. They can be had for around...

    Ohio Concealed carry courses?

Another vote for New Albany Shooting Range around Columbus. They are currently asking $199 for the 12 hours but I found it to be educational and worth the time with their quality instructors, even as an experienced shooter. They do low light shooting and you get to take lasers and tac lights...

Two or more of the same model pistol?

Some good thoughts. I was considering doing it but hadn't thought about the police taking one or just having a spare when one of them needs maintenance/repair.

Two or more of the same model pistol?

I'm wondering how many of you buy more than one of the same exact pistol and for what reasons?

Anyone Else Prefer the Ruger SR9 to the S&W M&P?

I prefer the SR9c to all of those. I went on a mission to find a 9mm carry piece a few months ago and rented all of the guns, shot them all, including the XD, and ended up liking the SR9c the most. I went based on feel of the gun and how easily I shot it. I have no question as to the quality...

    The "average" gun owner...

I can back up what was said about IPSC/IDPA. Again, it's not self defense training but it does help. When I was starting out I was lucky to stay on a pie plate at 7 yards slow fire. I used to shoot at the NRA range at their HQ and one of the guys there encouraged me to come out and try IPSC...
