Not an old timer but knocking on the door of half a century in a couple years. Currently carrying a 649-2 almost exclusively. Not so much by choice but rather necessity. Suffered a significant back injury requiring two surgeries which lead to a disability. Spent almost 18 months in a back brace...
I guess I'm tagging this post as it would be interesting to know the answers to both questions. Just picked one up two weeks ago after deciding on it for over 4 years. Guess the wait kind of paid off as my Cabela's points almost paid for it in full.
I think it depends on the practitioner. However, a co-worker saw the EAP for a PTSD type related incident which occurred at work. He was NOT a threat to himself or others but EAP reported to ISP and he lost his FOID and ultimately his weapons. Took him quite a bit of attorney fees and court...
If I measured correctly I think it is 5.5" on barrel length. As far as the 22 Mag Cylinder, I would check Numrich, Ebay and even post some WTB ads, on the various forums.
Mine was my first ever pistol (Ruger 10/22 came first) from my Dad. Purchased in 1982 for $ 90.10. Don't shoot it as much as I used to but it does get out occasionally.
Going with VA27 on this. Had a 442 (without lock) that was pretty brutal with hotter loads (especially for the wife). Ended up trading it straight up for a 649-2 and couldn't be happier. After awhile, the extra weight isn't that noticeable.
Have an early model SW 1911 Sc (purchased in 2007), with well over 3k rounds through it with no issues. I've only had to replace a recoil spring once and that was just for the heck of it.
Maybe it's because I'm currently laid up from back surgery and have too much time on my hands but I...
I am NOT an attorney so my answer is based upon knowledge only. I would say yes.
Had a guy a work going through a rough patch, ended up utilizing companies EAP and did a 1 week voluntary stay at local hospital for treatment. A few months after he got out, received notification from ISP that...
Yes. Spread sheet with: Make / Model / Serial Number / Date Purchased / Date Sold or Traded / Price Paid / Where Purchased. Also keep 2 photos of each which show 1) overall picture, 2) close-up of Serial Number
Stored in multiple locations both digital and hard copy.
For me, its the memories. I learned how to shoot on my Dad's SW M-60. Right before he passed, he gave it to me. It was the only one out of his collection that he didn't sell before hand. I put a box of 50 through it on the one year anniversary of his death and have done so every year since...
Thoughts and prayers to Dave and his family. Dave always took the time to answer questions and his knowledge and contributions here will always be remembered.
Being from IL, CCW isn't allowed here no matter what state issued the permit.
That being said, I just filled out my application and paid the $ 26.00 fee to Centre County Sheriffs Office in Pennsylvania for a non-resident permit this past Monday.
Application was approximately 1 page and...
Been looking at these for awhile and I think I have decided on the 357 version but still have a couple of questions.
The primary purchase of the rifle is for the whole family to enjoy and of course to have one that anyone of us could use should the need arise. Wife has handled one and seems...
Picked up one of these in stainless for my son 2 years ago for Xmas. As noted before, it is a great little gun for introducing someone to shooting. It has digested everything we have fed it with no malfunctions and is also pretty accurate as well.
