If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

It was a gun shop in Bullhead City Arizona, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Anyone ever have a problem taking their Ruger Mk II Apart?

My gunsmith laughed when I asked him about it. He told be to just spray the hell out of it, clean the barrel, dry it off, and go shoot it some more.

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

Given the fact that I said not only in the thread title, but several times in the first and following posts, that I was not interested in NAYSAYERS, that I had HEARD IT ALL BEFORE, and that I SIMPLY DON"T CARE about "perceived value", you still felt it necessary to grace us with your wisdom on...

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

So, I should have done it to some gun that doesn't mean a rats ass to me, rather than something I treasure. Gotcha.

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

So, I'm guessing that my restoration bugs you.

Did I get a good deal, or did I get a good deal?

Nope. Don't buy that at all.

2nd Amendment march for Washington state

Is this to be an open carry demonstration, or just a march?

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

Lots of "what if's" and "maybes" and such there. The gun now looks pretty much like it did when George bought it new, and that makes me happy. As to my heirs, well, if the fact that it's restored hurts them, that's just hard beans. I haven't bitched about ANYTHING that I've inherited, but...

Shop talk: Tinfoil Hats vs. Blissninnies

Thanks for a great read. I'm with you completely. My favorite toy store doesn't "push" anything, especially an agenda. I can walk in, browse, bs with them a bit, and leave with no pressure.

    S&W 686 - 6 shot vs 7 shot

I'm partial to the six shot, mostly I guess from tradition. Seven shots just don't seem "right".

    Early 30's Beauty

It belonged to a buddy's dad. He bought it new. After he passed, my friend said I could have it if I helped him sell his dads other guns.

If Restored Bugs You, Please Don't Open!

And please refrain from telling me what a huge mistake I made in having this restored. I've heard it all before, and frankly I just don't care. This gun means the world to me, and will be passed down in my family. "Value" is of no meaning in regards to this pistol. I got this gun from my...

    Old And Sweet

This belonged to the father of my dad;s best friend growing up. Somehow, my dad ended up with it, and I recently was given it by my oldest brother. I believe it dates to around 1921 or 1922.

    Thompson 45 AP

I agree that the barrel looks funky. I believe they make one with a shorter barrel, but it's an SBR, and again, I can't legally own one here.
