I have a guy I shoot with who casts 200grn .358 Winchester’s bullets (they measure .358 in diameter). They have a round profile with a flat nose and are slightly longer than a regular 158grn SWC.
I may try to load some using .38 S&W load data and shoot them out on an old S&W Victory revolver I...
Going through my first of probably two holster replacements for the year. The gun has been through 7 years and two frames of carry/use. Shoots well and is easy to carry as always.
I just bought an M&P 340 (No Lock) as an EDC but I'll continue to use the 442 for carry while jogging/working...
I carried one for a few years and was amazed at the places I could conceal that gun. It was a 1" .22Mag and was shot A LOT. Accuracy for its intended purpose was acceptable as was the purchase price.
I gave it to my Father when he got his CCW and have been contemplating another for several...
Does anybody here have one of these yet?
I haven't had the opportunity to fondle one of the new model 66s at a shop but this model having a full length ejector rod and stronger frame than the older models has my attention. I have a 4" 686+ that I carried for a long time but always wanted...
Are you looking for a snubby to carry?
A 2.5 or 3" 686+ would make you smile I'm sure. If you want a 5 shot like the SP101 a S&W 640 would work nicely.

I have to agree.
For the money a 3" or 4" S&W M10 makes a excellent do it all handgun especially for camp use. Those 158gr Keith style loads available from Buffalo Bore/Underwood make it even more versatile for woods use, plus the old FBI load on standby for social work.
Sure, stainless...
Galco Executive works well this time of year if you like shoulder holsters. I wear my 442 in one when I travel long distances in a vehicle or while at events that require formal attire.

I have ran hundreds of miles over the years with a S&W 442 with very little wear on the blued finish. I wear mesh athletic shorts with a draw-string to adjust how tight they need to be to wear the gun appendix with a gray cotton shirt as a cover garment (gets darker when sweaty/less hot than...
S&W 686+ 4" is my "Do it all" revolver. Powerful magnum loads are tame and .38 target ammunition feels like .22lr. It carries well OWB and I have a couple speed loader pouches to compliment it for winter carry.
The S&W 65 3" carries a little better but I enjoy the 686 for everything else...
Have two 7-shot models for my 686+ and one for my 5-shot 442. I think they drop the rounds faster than the plastic HKS speed loaders and I have both. Rounds seem looser in the 5-star loaders I have and don't get caught on the plastic. When reloading and dropping HKS loaders I have cracked a...
Ordered a 1991 from a vendor and plan to use the $100 rebate. My credit card is also going to give me $100 back. Pretty good deal and I've always wanted a Colt 1911. No collection is complete without one.
-Jake
Been carrying a S&W 442 for a "few" years and favor the Centennial J-Frame design for the purpose you have described.
Got large coat pockets?
When a Charter Bulldog speaks people have been known to listen.

I myself traded for a new Bulldog yesterday. It was manufactured 01/2014. I checked the timing and lockup before purchase and all was well with the little puppy so I brought it home.
After a thousand or so dry fires the thing has smoothed out a lot and the trigger feels almost as nice as my...
Been carrying BB's +P FBI load for a couple of years now. The velocities are as advertised and they have some recoil to them. My 442 bucks fairly hard but my steel K frame 3" and 4" guns shoot the stuff just fine. I carry that load in all of my .38 Special revolvers.
I'm wanting to test...
Just traded an XDs .45 and cash for a New Bulldog and a Pre-10 M&P today.
The Bulldog has a gritty trigger but the timing is fine and I'm sure the trigger will smooth out with lots of dry firing. Bought 100 rounds of 200grn cowboy loads loaded to 750 FPS to practice with and am looking at...
If you're cross-eye dominant, you're wrong. :neener:
Sorry... had an instructor yell that at somebody while beating him with a stick once.
But, I use both eyes because I have two. The only time I close one is while using a scope at long ranges and even then for short periods, otherwise it...
Summer?
A speed strip in my right pocket.
Winter?
A speed strip in my right pocket, speed loader in my right jacket pocket, and a J frame in my left pocket.
