    Scope ring question

I have a 22-250 Ruger M77 M11 with a 1" Weaver V16 scope. I cannot get the ring screws tight enough to hold. I want to replace the rings with something of higher quality. What would you recommend for under $100?

    Iver Johnson 44

A friend has located an Iver Johnson American Bulldog 44. He does not have internet access so I offered to check it out. The number "1123" is under the grips. Can someone help me with info about this Revolver? Thanks.

    Concealed carry gun

Been so long since I've logged on I almost used up the 5 tries allowed to log in. Anyway,I'm in Illinois and I'm keeping my eye out for the best carry gun to fit my needs.....that is,in the unlikely event they pass a carry law. I've looked at the Ruger revolvers and also had a chance to shoot an...

Looking for suggested hard case for rifle/scope

I'm looking to replace the old worn out case I've been using for my Ruger M77 MarkII/Weaver V16 scope. My current case is a bit too short and too narrow. Unless I get the gun/scope situated just right I'm concerned it will damage the scope. At 48"x9" it's just too small. I'd prefer about 52"x12"...

    Seating depth question.

Met a serious benchrest fanatic at the range last trip out and he was explaining to me how to get the right seating depth by resizing the neck on an empty case, starting a bullet into it,then forcing the bolt all the way forward to find the lands. He said then to back off my seating die from...

Found an accurate round for my 22-250

I think I've found a good target round for my Ruger M77 MarkII 22-250. With a 50gr V-Max and 35.0gr Varget my last trip to the range netted 6 hits inside the 1" bulls-eye at 200yds. What really shocked me was that my 13-year-old granddaughter fired them....a total of 8 rounds at 200yds. The rest...

    Magnum target rounds pay off

At a pistol range a while back I was shooting some pretty stout 357s through my GP 100 (I get quite a bit of grief from many gun enthusiasts about not using 38sp) when a gentleman laid his gun down and came over to see what all the noise and concussion (indoor range) was all about. I showed him...

    Singin' them reloadin' blues

About the time I think I have a handle on this reloading stuff,it starts throwing me curve balls. Last time I sat down to load ammo I was doing 357mag. Though I'm fairly new to reloading,I have probable loaded well over 2500 357 rounds. Well, for some reason I could not get my 505 balance beam...

    First 200yd results

Finally found a range with 200yd. Up til now I was limited to 100 for my 22-250. These were my 2 best groups. Rounds were 50gr Vmax and 35gr Varget. Shot both 34.5 and 35gr and 35 was by far better. Wind was a bit gusty at times so I'm not too disappointed. No records broken here, but I came home...

    Holster for 6" GP100

I've been kinda keeping my eye open for comments here and elsewhere regarding holsters for my Ruger GP100 6". I do not want a belt holster, but rather something that will hold it beneath my left arm placing end of barrel at or above the belt-line for carrying in the field while hunting and such...

    Chrono suggestions wanted

I'm kicking around the idea of buying a chrono with my tax refund and would like to hear some suggestions from chrono owners/users,or a link to reviews and comparisons of current brands/models available. Don't care for a lot of fancy add-ons,although the capability to download data to pc sounds...

    Ah,come on!!!

I finally found some 180gr Hornady HP/XTPs locally. First 180s I've ever seen,so I bought a box and tonight I began gathering data and preparing cases. The cases are all R-P because that's what I had onhand. They were all trimmed with a Lee hand trimmer to the same length(1.280). CCI550 magnum...

    HELP...1st time loading 44Mag.

I'm going to reload 44mags for the first time. My SIL works lots of hours and has entrusted me(he likes living life on the edge!) to load some ammo for his SBH for the coming weekend. None of the load data I've found is consistent (he brought me 300gr XTPs). My Speers book, which gives arguably...

    Help finding scope sun shade

For some reason Weaver quit selling sun shades for the V16. I have checked with a couple of the major online gun accessory sites and they no longer carry them. I asked via live chat on one sight if they had another brand that would fit. I was told that they were lens-specific and they did not...

    Floating barrel on M77 Mk11?

My one and only rifle is a Ruger M77 Mark11 in 22-250 cal. with a Weaver V16 scope. I've been reloading all(accept for one 20rd box of factory) of my ammo since first buying this used outfit and am currently still looking for the most accurate round using Varget before I try another powder...

Back from range. Questions and a pic

I just returned home a short while ago from my first trip to the range in near-freezing temps (34). First of all,the loads I took were loaded by me using new brass that I had FL sized and trimmed, pockets uniformed with Lee tool, and loaded with 50gr V-Max and 8 different charges of Varget. I'm...

My review of the RCBS RangeMaster 750 digital scale

Being new to reloading and perhaps not the best person to provide data that the average reloader here on THR would take seriously,I decided, still,to give my take on the RCBS RangeMaster 750 scale since I was given one by my wife,(with the aid of my son-in-law) for Christmas. I used it for the...
