    Favorite Handgun?

    What a tough question. I have a lot of favorites, but I guess one I rarely shoot or carry is nominated. A Browning FN Hi Power ;

    Smith model 442 no lock

I just recently got a S&W M&P 340 to replace a 642 (with lock removed) Traded the Airweight to a friend and then ran up on this. Steel barrel & cylinder, scandium frame, and no lock. I like the shroud over the extractor rod as well. The trigger is stock, and mighty heavy to pull. I may just get...

High water mark in pump riot guns?

I'm no expert but this is about high enough water mark for me. :) An oldie but a goodie, a model 1897 original riot takedown made in 1940.

    1st .44 Mag Poll

I voted Ruger even though I've not owned one ..... yet... but the reputation for durability influenced my vote. I have a pair of 629s that are both great guns and have had a couple of 29s come and go that were also top notch. You really can't go wrong either way.

    1911 10mm opinions?

Hey guys, the name of the forum is The High Road. Have some more coffee, shake hands, and forgive and forget. :) I've got a Delta Gold Cup from '91. Don't know how many rounds have been through it but it is a good pistol.

    Your Favourite Revolver - Why

Subject to change but right now a S&W model 27-2 with a 5"bbl. I favor it above my 44mag because it is just easier to shoot and the ammo is cheaper. Kills the paper I shoot just as efficiently as the 44. :)

    10 mm

    A Glock 20 and a blue 1991 Delta Gold Cup. Considering a Glock 29.

    What's your easiest carry weapon?

Easiest would be my Sig P238 but I usually carry my Kahr MK40. Usually in the beltster by Bandara Leather. Makes carrying a heavier pistol comfortable for a ten hour workday if wearing your shirt tail out isn't an issue. I wouldn't feel that comfortable carrying the Kahr in a pocket but the Sig...

    Are 40 cal's all marketing?

Full disclosure, I've got three .40 cal pistols, two 10mms, one 9mm. I'm thinking of selling the 9 as it is superfluous for me. I was talking with a West Palm Beach captain in the Sheriff's Department about the .40 a few years back. I asked him how he liked the round. He said," The forty, I like...

    Glock question/opinion needed

I haven't gotten a G-29 ..... yet, but I do have a G-20 and it is a heck of a gun. Too large for ccw but fine for a belt holster and great to shoot. I highly recommend it.

North Carolina governor suspends gun rights

Seems like a lot of people wouldn't evacuate if a bad storm was coming because of this executive order. She has potentially made a bad situation worse. The gov is obviously an anti and I hope she is outta there come the next election. Glad I don't live in NC. :fire:

would you sell 2 guns to buy one?

Been there and done that, not for an Ed Brown though. Like some of the other gentlemen who posted, if I wasn't in love with some I had and didn't use them I could see selling them for my latest crave. OTOH, I wouldn't trade them in to a dealer and practically give them away.

Colt .380 Gov't VS Colt Mustang Pocketlite

I have a P238 SAS and it hasn't had a malfunction of any kind in 300 rounds. It is accurate in the distances it was meant for. I think the bad press Sig got is because of the old saying, a happy customer will tell one friend and an unhappy one will tell ten. Not to say there haven't been...

    Favorite Guns

Anything that has 10mm stamped on it. :) + too many to list besides that.

    never too many

A good friend of mine told me,"If you can't be satisfied with what you have, you'll never be satisfied with what you get." I read that movie star, the late Steve McQueen, had 100 rocking chairs and 10,000 pocket knives when he passed away. I suffer from the same disease, if that is what it is...

I notice now most of us older guys (50+)

That is funny, I've got to tell that to the gal at the grocery store. :D This is a thread that won't die so I may as well jump in here. I am a year over sixty and love both revolvers and some of the semi-autos. I carried a 340PD for 7 years but recently switched to a Sig P238, then to a Kahr P9...

    S&W model 19 2" vs model 60 2"

The M-19 2 1/2 is quite a bit larger than a model 60. I've owned a couple of short 19s and wish I would have kept one but for carrying I would opt for the model 60. Just IMHO.

    Undergunned with .38 Spl. +p in 2" Model 60?

Whenever this topic comes up I always think of the day, at 15 years old, when I saw Jack Ruby kill Lee Harvey Oswald on live television with one hit from a standard 38spl load in a snubbie. There is also the famous video and still photo of the Vietnamese general shooting the VC in the head with...

    Replica gangster shotgun

Unless I'm badly mistaken sawing off the stock like that makes possession of that shotgun a federal crime ? The bbl would need to be at least 18" and there is an overall length requirement as well. At least that was the way it was some years ago.

    1911 guide rod

Just curious, I recently bought a Delta Gold Cup 1911. A used 1991 model with a full length guide rod. This is the first 1911 I've had with a FLGR and it is factory issue in that model. If it wasn't of some benefit why would the factory go to the added expense of installing it ? BTW, this is an...
