Dave, Don't despair. I'm hanging in there for the next shipment with the 24in. barrel so it'll be "legal" at the range. Ted

    Busting clays with new Saiga-12

Dave, Think it would be any good for doubles?? ;) Keep your fingers crossed...perchance we'll work something out if the purchase materializes. I think said Geezer session would be FUN. :) Ted

    Busting clays with new Saiga-12

Dave: And so would I! If Correia and Pvt Pyl get more 12 ga. units, I may very well get one - I'm sorry I didn't buy one when CDNN had them - and try it out at PGC's trap range. I have fingers crossed that 28 in. barrelled ones come in and not just the shorter ones. Shear: Thanx for the...

    Shotgun riddle

Thanx for the info Semi. Much appreciated. I'll keep my fingers crossed for some of the longer barrel lengths in 12 ga. to be included in the much anticipated shipment. Out of curiosity, does the manual discuss chokes - what the default configuration is and if there are interchangeable ones...

    Shotgun riddle

Mmmm, I can see showing up at the trap range with one of these! :) Is 18in. the only barrel length available? Is something a bit longer available? I chcuckled the first time I saw one of these in CDNN's ad; now I'm sorry I waited for the stateside stock to evaporate.

    Retrospective....

Hi Dave, Happy New Year! I've been away from THR for a good bit because I've been much more busy at work and the evenings are when I get out to shoot. OK, enough excuses! I thought I'd check in to see what's happening - and because the grindstone at the office hasn't gotten back up to full...

    Testosterone.....

Dave, This sponge will take all the trap shooting advice you care to share. Half the battle is knowing you don't know what you don't don't know. The other half is being willing to learn what you don't know. Now, as for the other remaining halves, I dunno! :banghead: Work has been a bit...

    Maryland Shooters - HB 1211

Gents, Thanx for the great sample letters. The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind for me at work and I've been unable to keep track of the current legislative session. This weekend should give me the opportunity to get mine sent. BR...

Thanx, Dave! I'll retrieve it next week when the Polar Bears shoot. Hopefully you and I can get together again before too much longer. Bet you guys had FUN with the Wind today...makes me jealous. ;-) BR... Ted

    BA/UU/R shirts....

PGC "dead letter drop" Dave, Are you going to be leaving off shirts at PGC this week for those of us who frequent there? BR...

    Marylander's-So it begins

Mr. Barnes' argument is fraught with faulty logic. It makes me wonder if he bothered to read the MD. State Police report. As in all human endeavor, there will be some bias; HOWEVER, the report is as objective as you can get. Mr. Barnes is blowing smoke and will no doubt get the support of those...

    Red Dot on BHP?

Thanx! Nick, Thanx for that first hand user info. I'd pretty much decided that the low-intenstiy one would be more suitable...most of my shooting is indoors. It's great to know that the low-intensity one is more than adequate for outdoors as well. The guys at the range where I got my 1st...

    Red Dot on BHP?

Now THAT is an elegant solution! Sure not an inexpensive one; if it were, I'd seriously consider replacing at least one other of the red dots I have. Thanx for the info!

    Red Dot on BHP?

Has anyone experience with mounting a red dot sight on a BHP or one of its FN clones? I have a MkII mil version BHP with fixed sights to which I'd like to add an optical sight. Having pored through Brownell's, searched the archives here and checked out several of the pistol mount...

    Marylander's-So it begins

Fellow MD THR'ers , The fact is that I'm not a NRA minion (none of you branded me as such - thanx!). As I've advanced in youth to late middle age, I've grown less receptive to the party line as being for the good of all. I want to live my life in peace with neither the "nefarians" threatening...

    Marylander's-So it begins

Irked It was with some positive amazement that I read the MD State Police recommendation that the ballistic signature data base data collection efforts be terminated. Their acknowledgement and recognition that the data being collected is producing no positive results for the dollars expended...

    POLL....Are you a shooter or a hunter?

After a couple of "hunting" experiences in my 20s, I didn't touch a gun again until last year. Now I'm 59 and thoroughly enjoy target shooting - both paper and clays. :) I'd hunt again only if absolutely necessary to put food on the table. I'd also do it by myself.

    How old are you?

Just turned 59 and mostly enjoying my Advanced Youth. Let's see, since getting involved in this sport this time last year, I've accumulated a variety of shooting implements and am enjoying them all. A brace of shotguns for (trying to shoot) trap; several .22 and 9mm pistols for target...
