    Magnus bullets...honest opinions please

Shot thousands of rounds (45acp, 45lc, 38spl, 9mm) of his lead. Never had any significant issues. Would recommend. He also helps out his local competition shooters.

    Wasting money on shotshell holders

I am fairly new to shotgun having picked one up a few months ago for 3-gun. While I do see advantage to extra shells on-board, i don't like the extra weight. Could have used an extra round today on a 32 shot minimum stage ;)

    Reloading the Glock 20

So long as you are under MAX book loads I doubt you will see any issues. I had a G20 for about a year. Only rounds with severe brass deformation were from Double Tap. All my reloads, including full book max never showed more that minor bulges. Mine was a 2011 production Gen3. It didn't...

    Remington 552 Jammaster

My 552 was a pain in the but. Nothing like a tube fed 22 that jams up. After 6mo at a authorized service center waiting for replacement parts, that never came, I sold it for peanuts. Not impressed with current mega-corporate owned Remington. Life is too short to spend fixing mfg defects on...

Who's happy with Blue Dot and 9mm?

It will do in a pinch. I use it for hot 9mm/357 loads with JHP. IME it is fairly close to PP, but is more temp sensitive (amongst other quirks). If it is available, I would recommend it over an indefinite wait for PP.

    Powder valley in-stock primers

Yep, noticed that. I am fortunate that primers and some powder has been available locally throughout this whole time. Prices on them have raised by 50% which has kept some of the hoarding at bay.

    M&P 9 Mags?

They are available on GunBroker, but you aren't going to like the price:eek: May be a while before I see another M&P mag at $20 shipped (botach last summer fwiw). I know Glock mags are trickling into the supply chain. Picked up 7 mags a couple weeks ago through Natchez. Anyone know...

S&W 1000 Shotgun: Is it reliable and was it a good deal?

I had one. Decided to sell it before it broke as parts are pretty hard to come by. It did not cycle bird shot 100% either.

    Custom Glock Pricing

Selling an "upgraded" glock for anything over market value of a stock glock is an excersise in futility. When I sold my glock 22 I pulled all the aftermarket stuu off it, sold my extra mags, Wilson barrel, and extras seperately. I was able to eak out close to $600. I had about $700 invested...

    .223 Case OAL

I started trimming at 1.750, but found a lot of my free-range brass was shorter. I now shoot for 1.745-1.750, load anything above 1.740, and sort out the stuff that is shorter for use later. This has been working well for me. I have a Lee FCD, but have yet to have good reason to use it. It...

Anyone loading 357 with Blue Dot?

Another 66-2 here. I only use light bullets for light loads. My 357mag loads are with 158g jhp. I have also played with BD for 357/44. Not a big deal to use it, just go by the book. I find ejection stiffer at lower velocities than 2400. In a pinch I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Sorry, no...

    Wilson selling Glock Barrels

Bought one for a G22. Good accuracy. Leaded pretty bad at first, but tapered off over time. Mine dropped in with no modification.

    .38/.357 taper crimp die set?

Keep the dies. Add a roll crimp. I use the TC for most, even on cannelured bullets. My largest volume is a 125g truncated cone that I seat past the roll crimp groove and taper crimp just below the edge of the cone. That is a light IDPA load though. With 38/357 I get shaving unless I...

Best Cheap case Trim setup? Drill press?

I am using that Lee trimmer for 223. I used a 22-250 pin and ground it to register on the inner case web. That way everything is from one side. Cases vary, so I keep the calipers in hand. It is still pretty fast even with a measure or two.

Midway oversold - Any places have .223 bullets?

Magnus got and sold through 20k last week. They have more on order, but who knows how many are coming and what increments. If you just want range fodder there are heavy and light bullets available, even at Midway last I checked. Not going to be the cheap $100/K stuff though. More in the...

The Great P Mag Shortage Of 2013

There is no shortage. The supply chain has been sucked dry. There is however no shortage of them for sale on the private market. They are just going for 4-5X e-tail prices of two months ago. Deal with it. Buy now and risk over-paying or wait and risk some boobs in Washington making them...

    Taurus 800 series

Had one, sold it in short order. I did not like how the sights were setup and refused to put $40-50 extra into the gun to fix it. Mine did function w/o malfunction for the ~250rd I shot through it. I also was not impressed with the limited selection of aftermarket items available for it at...

Frustration with new M&P .40 and .45 slide release design

One of the guys I shoot with told me to ride the slide stop during reloads for the m&p guns. I tried it and discovered that it works well. Jostling from mag insertion greatly reduces force to drop the lever. I am still getting used to the technique, but when done right it is fast and easy on...

    M&P40 elevation adjustment?

Some combat pistols come from the factory set si the front dot must be placed on your target. I prefer a 6 o'clock hold, so I put a shorter front sight on my M&P 9 to shift the impact higher on target

    SR40 vs. M&P 40

Larry's has the M&P on sale @ $399. IMO the m&p is a higher quality combat pistol and has better ergonomics. Also m&p has more aftermarket support for parts/accessories.
