I ordered a bunch of bullets from Midway early last week, they were "in stock". Just got a note that they were oversold by 2 cases (the ones I ordered!) and no backorder is available. Doh.

So does anyone know of a place that might have .223 55gr or 62gr FMJ's?

Thanks!

Try Magnus Bullets. They just up the street from me and I've used their 9mm and 45 ACP stuff with no complaints.

Magnus is still showing out of stock online when I looked today, I think they are producing product, but it may be going to distributers rather than online. I picked up a box at JC's in Huntsville this weekend after I checked and they said they had some coming after Magnus was out online.

I ordered mine on the 29th and my 38lbs package which includes them is getting delivered tomorrow.

A quick look around shows that Powder Valley has 50gr Z-max bullets in stock, 500 for $59.69. $11.94 per hundred isn't too shabby right now for a good premium bullet.

I was on MidwayUSA's waiting list back in mid-December.
I ordered within minutes of receiving the email saying they were in.

Seems like a good thing for me.
Cuz they're out again

Check local mom and pops gun shops if you have any around. Online check many different sites, don't keep your eggs in 1 basket. Lots of online retailers are sold out most say they will be back in stock in a few weeks.

I just bought a 1000 from gunbroker.com. The bidding can be painful, but you can get some. I paid $210 for the 1000. I wanted some bad.

Magnus got and sold through 20k last week. They have more on order, but who knows how many are coming and what increments.

If you just want range fodder there are heavy and light bullets available, even at Midway last I checked. Not going to be the cheap $100/K stuff though. More in the $18-25/100 range.

I think it is going to be a few months before suppliers start getting restocked to normal levels. There are a lot less reloaders than factory ammo hoarders, so hopefully this will blow over quick for us.

Saw some 50 gr ballistic tips listed under "bulk rifle bullets" on Wideners website a couple days ago.

emailed my order to Pat's....their phone goes to voicemail and it's full....hopefully they'll get back to me....I won't bug them....

On those pull downs.....the tool marks look pretty deep. What kind of risks are you taking if you shoot those?

Powder Valley. I picked up 3k last night. They still showed a bunch of different .223 bullets (Nosler) in stock when I posted this.

I'll just throw this out there... if it says "Out of stock, No backorder", it means they don't know when it'll be in stock... not that it'll never be. I've got several notifications of things that say "no backorder".

So don't give up hope.

I bought dogtowns the other day. They showed up no problem yesterday. they're done pretty well by me in the past.

I bought some 50gr Hornady's today at Scheels. They had a lot of 22 cal bullets. not much in 55grain but the ones I picked up were only $130/1000 which was way less than I was finding on Gun Broker. I was going to buy http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=325746032

but didn't want to fork out that much right now so I just bought 400 of the 50gr ones above. For now it will work for me.
