    What's your Favorite Pistol Caliber?

BikerDoc said: ... and I couldn't have said it better myself. Today? I like the .45AR

Not sure where to post this (question about KY Gun co.)

Redneck or not, if I owned a business, particularly a firearm related business- dang right I'd sell hams, pickled pigs feet, cracklins, bacon- lots of bacon. There would always be the hope of keeping any future Major Hasan's out.

    Italian Firearms Group?

Couple of things I though were interesting... They have 2 1911's, at least one is a series 70 and not available for the U.S. market. The another pistol (not 1911), has a very familiar placement of the safety lever- on the slide.

Cleaning weapons after shooting corrosive ammo

Lots of Ballistol moosemilk. Neutralizes the corosive stuff, sticks to any metal beneath the water which'll run off or evaporate, is actually kinda good for the wood and leather.

    Cases of backcountry self defense?

I wasn't around to see it firsthand, but it seems the Battle of San Jacinto was a pretty big deal at the time.:scrutiny:

    forward assist

I guess I'm kinda funny that way. I've never used mine out here in the civilian world (I don't think), but to me, it just looks like something ought to be there. I mean, I don't think I'd ever use it as was said above- there's not much point in compounding a problem if a ctg wont feed when I...

    Rifle case with roomy pocket(s)?

I'm kinda like you, I had cases that just didn't hold the stuff I wanted held with the rifle instead of in my range bags. I never thought I'd spend so much money on one, but I went with a really nice one with a silly tacticool sounding name- Voodoo Tactical Something er other for $103 at...

About to buy a Sig 220 in 45... info needed

For those of us who already own one, it's hard to imagine anyone not loving the things right from the git-go. I bought mine (W. German) used and would not trade it for a whole truckload of speckled pups! The pistol has what feels more like a much more controllable rearward push, than a flip of...

    .223 JSP options?

I don't know if you have an Academy Sporting Goods store in your area, but they sell Monarch brass case 55gr JSP for about $9 - $10 box. I didn't have just real high expectations when I started buying it back when it was about $5 a box, but I'm glad I tried it. It seems to be the same stuff as...

Clueless about what kind of scope I want for AR...

Well that's kind of an interesting dilema. We don't know what kind of shooting you'll be doing, and you don't know what kind of scope you'll need. Do you want cool, functional, rational, or a good combo of all three? We can give you recommendations all week long, right? But really, you...

I Messed Up, Need Ideas! Stuck BoreSnake

DO NOT put anything wooden in there. It can splinter, split, swell, and cause a whole other obstruction problem. It's a Saiga- so a solid brass or SS cleaning rod won't hardly effect anything either unless the crown gets damaged- but more than likely, all pounding from the muzzle will...

    1980 s&w 520 nysp

Close- it was the only N-frame .357 magnum. They also produced the model 13 and either the L-Framed New 519 or the 520.

    Low Recoil Varmint Rifle

And one of them's not a .204? Well, then there wouldn't be much more need for rounding out the fammily then, huh?:D

    Low Recoil Varmint Rifle

The .204 would be a great choice- I really like the CZ 527 with it's single set trigger. Another ctg I like is the .243 with a heavy barrel. I have a Remington 700 VTR from which I launch 55gr and 58gr bullets. Yes, there's a tad bit more recoil, however, I can keep the hits inside the...

    Decipher Law Enforcement Markings?

You can also go through Smith & Wesson and find out who they sold it to. May cost $$ for a letter, but as far as resale- I don't thing anyone's ever lost money from getting a factory letter.

Finally got some Ballistol, cleaning agent

Go ahead and use it straight for general cleaning. Cutting it with water is for use with black powder and corrosive primed ammo. For corrosive ammo, I cut 3 parts Ballistol to 1 part Water. For getting more, or just to find out more info on the stuff- google an outfit called "Firehawk Tech-...

    Return to Zero?

I didn't have that mount, but I did have similar issues. What cured mine was to push out the cross pins, and GENTLY run a small flat mill file across all the flat areas on the inside of the mount. What I'm thinking is 1. they didn't clean up the machining burrs as well as they could have...

    AR question

The sling swivel will only effect the bbl if you're slung up tight in a sitting or prone position. Why don't you do it right and put the proper gas block on? Won't you feel better in the long run when you peek up under that freefloat and see a purpose built block?

    Pairs

I didn't intentionally start out to have pairs of anything, it just kinda happened. And to be truthful, I never really thought about it til I saw this thread. But since you asked, it appears I have a pair of S&W 1917's, M1's, Sig P6's, and a pair of Springfield 1911 GI's. Seems there's some...
