    Eagle Grips Problem

I've always had great luck with Hogue's fit, but sadly they don't make a K/L frame bantam for a square butt.

    Eagle Grips Problem

Well I sent back the first pair, and 29 days after first ordering them I got a second pair which fit ok, not great: for $100+ seems like they should have better quality control. I like the looks of their Secret Service grips, but doubt I'll buy again from them. Spegel grips next time?

    Eagle Grips Problem

Just got a pair of checkered ebony Secret Service grips for my 3" S&W 686-3, but am unable to get the right side on at all, and the left sticks out at the top of the frame leaving a very sharp edge. I like the appearance of them, and wonder if it's worth sending them back and trying another...

    Ballistol????

http://ballistol.com/ Yes it does work very well...my wife used to complain about the smell until it unfroze a valve on her very expensive trumpet.

    Anyone using Schuetzen Blackpowder?

Haven't tried any yet, but the fellows at the Club say it's just behind Swiss in performance...

    New to Flintlocks

Thanks for the help! I picked up a pound of Goex FFFF priming powder yesterday; can't wait for the rain up this way to stop so I can take it out to play!

    New to Flintlocks

Just in the process of getting a .45cal flinter( a TVM Iron Pennsylvania rifle), and I have some questions regarding powder: I currently have a lb of Swiss FF, but understand the FFF is recommended .45 rifles. Is it dangerous to shoot the slower powder in the .45- e.g., create too much...

    Winchester M'94 crossbolt safety

This isn't one of the many special editions that involved taking a standard production gun and putting some fancy tacks in the stock...they are particiularly nice rifles and would definately be worth it to remove and hide the crossbolt. There must be someone, somewhere who's figured out how...

    Winchester M'94 crossbolt safety

A few years ago I came upon a M94 Limited Edition Centennial rifle in .30WCF that has outstanding figured wood, but unfortunately has a darn crossbolt safety that mars an otherwise beautiful rifle. Would any of you folks know of a gunsmith who would remove the crossbolt and somehow cover the...

    The 642 club

The Sig P230 is a classy gun, but the 642 carries WAY better, IMHO.

Smith & Wesson kit gun question.

You should definitely have at least one of each...I do!

    S&W 640 .357 Magnum durable?

I think it would stand up better than your hand; most people prefer to do most of their practice with .38Spl ammo, and limited use of magnums. Remember, shot placement matters more than power, and that gun is likely more controlable with .38Spl than magnums. Even if it did need a trip back to...

    S&W 640 .357 Magnum durable?

If you REALLY want a nice package, put the rubber Crimson Trace grips on your 640...absorbs even heavy Mag loads, and extends its shootability into low light/no light situations.

    S&W 640 .357 Magnum durable?

I've never, ever read or heard about anyone shooting their 640 loose. Like most people with them, I do most of my shooting with standard pressure .38Spl, and carry it with .38Spl +P or .357Mag. BTW, I currently have mine loaded with Spear's new .357Mag 135gr SB Gold Dot load: reduced power...

    The 642 club

I had one for a couple of months...recently put Crimson Trace laser grips on it (the hard plastic ones- I saved the rubber CT's for the 640) and made the mistake of showing it to my better half "Look Honey, aren't these neat!" She agreed, and liked the setup even better than her M60LS for purse...

Well, I'm officially in love with my Smith and Wesson

What's the cost for this work? Turnaround time? Drifter- where'd you get those grips? Nice!

Well, I'm officially in love with my Smith and Wesson

I also had to send my M22-4 in due to it shooting low and right. I understand all of the earlier ones had similar problems with poor sight regulation. the good news is that S&W paid shipping both ways, and after they received the gun on Tuesday, repaired it Wednesday, test-fired it and...

    A S&W between the M-686 and 442???

    A gunshop near me has a brand new M65LS (a now discontinued .357 K-Frame) for about $450...give them a call: 888-215-5522.

Took my new 642 to the range this evening.

I've tried a number of different grips on my 642, and have settled on a set of Pachmayr Compac Professionals which give a fuller grip but don't harm its use as a pocket gun. They are wonderful at absorbing recoil, and for even more you can get the slightly larger Compacts which cover the...
