    Winchester 94 Help

I have a pre-64 chambered in 30-30 that's near perfect. I put a box through it and it shot great. The only problem is that I'm not a big lever gun person. I can see why people like them so much. I do have it listed in the classifieds but the price is very negotiable.

    Northwest dwellers!

I live in Issaquah. West coast armory is right near by. They are great with advice and very friendly. I should go check out survival arms, had not heard of them before.

1897 - To restore or not?

So here's my dilemma. I have an early 1897 12ga. Its in OK condition but not superb. It was originally a long barrel but was cut down at some point. I believe that its all original parts. However all the bluing is gone. It has the worn and used patina to it. I tore it down and cleaned...

    Gun Myths and Legends

haha I handed my mom a M1 Carbine and she proceeded to shame both my dad and I in the first few clips. Didn't do too bad with the m94 either. I would have said "diving into water to escape gunfire". But Mythbusters showed .50 and almost all high velocity rounds breaking up shortly after...

    1897 Winchester for Home Defense

I have to agree with Fred. I just finished cleaning my '97 today. I must have removed 4# of dirt and grime out of it. This included gunk that was in the sear notches that could prevent it from staying half-cocked. I mistook the trigger spring for a roll-pin initially. Everything moves so...

help me with Winchester 9422 realistic value please

I have a NIB 9422 .22mag from 1971. I don't know for sure but I don't think its ever been fired. I have the box and all the paperwork. I have seen prices all over the place and lots of special editions or whatnot. Most seem to be priced around $700 but I don't think any of those have...

    what causes G.A.S.?

What about H.A.S? (Hobby Accumulation Syndrome) I have more and more hobbies, guns being the newest. I race cars, motorcycles, trucks, photography, audio, metalworking, composites, and so on... I belong to more forums than I can count. But I can say that when the negative cash flow goes...

    3-shot limit?

Here are a few quick shots that I had on the computer. I currently dissembled the '97 for a full cleaning/repair. I think I am going to re-blue everything and replace things like the trigger spring that are either broken or missing. Should be a fun project.

I think that I may have finally figured out what I am doing wrong.

Good lighting on metal is really important. You may also want to merge an under and an over exposed image as an HDR. That way you can get lots of details in the shadows and highlights. Also I would say that if your going to invest any time in photographing the collection I would say to not...

    3-shot limit?

Yup, Thanks! I was just ignorant of that law. So I was a little confused when I pulled the stick out. But now I am enlightened! Now I just have to figure out what parts are still usable like the barrel.

    3-shot limit?

Ok, makes sense. I guess that means someone was using the '97 for bird hunting. The only pigeons I will be chasing will be clay, so out it goes. Unless the clay variety migrate these days.... ;) Thanks!

    3-shot limit?

So if some of you read my intro post on the social section. I came into a few interesting guns. Two of which were shotguns. A model 1897 12ga and a NIB model 1200. Reading through the 1200 literature it mentions a 3-shot limit for bird hunting or something similar. And detailed how to...

New Here, But man I have a neat story!

The 1903 is a 1391xxx range serial#. I checked and it is not one of the suspect bolts. I'm going to try to get to the range this weekend so I'll let you know if I'm missing any body parts. I did put up one for consignment then changed my mine. So I had to fill out the 4473. At least now...

New Here, But man I have a neat story!

Wow, this is quite an active forum! And thank you to all who greeted me. First off I would like to state that if any of you lost a wallet stuffed with cash I would return it without a dime missing. (and I have) However in this case, the purchase paperwork states clearly that the house...

New Here, But man I have a neat story!

So basically I found this forum upon research based on my new acquisition. I found tons of useful information and i'm sure I will be digging for more as time goes on. So the story... I recently bought a house here in WA. One owner built in the 70's. Owners passed away and I bought it...
