I did that, and it gives a small amount of wiggle but doesn't come off.

I'm trying to replace it with a collapsible stock. The fixed one was on it when I bought it and I can't find anything about taking it off. (If you want to know how to install one, google's got you covered). I'll keep looking, but hopefully someone here knows whats what.

So I was having trouble getting the gun stripped, tried the rubber mallet trick with success. Now I can't get it back together. The bolt won't go back in. The hammer is out of the way, I made sure of that. No idea what position the strut is supposed to be in but no spot seems to help...

Hmm - I was a bit worried that changing the stock would be a PITA as far as fitting it properly. I think that end of the project will have to wait until I'm done with school and can focus on it a lot more. Hopefully I will be able to set it up before next deer season.

I looked at the mags, and all I saw was what looked like a little bit of carbon at the very front of the mags. It doesn't scratch off with my finger nail, so I don't think it's wax

I did go back to the 10 rd mag, and had no issue. The rifle was cleaned within the last 300 rounds fired, so it shouldn't be that... As far as when they occur, it seemed really random. Not the first or last round of the mag, but somewhere in between. One mag had one failure, then no issues...
