Best load to shoot down small drones

7 1/2 bismuth or steel shot in 12 bore? Slow moving at 100 - 200 feet. I'm tired of this thing trespassing and spying on us and then buzzing away.

Sidearm for guide in bear country

@ku4hx Ever see the claws on a black? They don't need to be armed or teethed any further to kill humans. Your guilt shame attempt here is really beneath us.

Sidearm for guide in bear country

Yes, escorting fishers as a paid guide. I owe them a safe experience as I can give them too, so the sidearm. The only time I have ever been attacked was by a skunk with distemper, and I had to beat it to death with a piece of driftwood and a camp shovel. Never again. Part-time summer job, so...

Sidearm for guide in bear country

Hot-loaded 45 ACPs will probably do okay against a black bear and with a Mod.41 Glock I have 10 rounds w/o reloading. Just sayin'.

Sidearm for guide in bear country

I've seen everything used from .44 percussion revolvers to sawed off shotguns. I was thinking of getting a Glock 41 in 45ACP w/5.5" bbl. Anyone guided in UP Michigan trout streams? Typical encounter is black bear, sometimes wolves.

M1 carbine or Hi-Point carbine : Which one?

The principle downside of the M1, beside the price, is that the ammo is hard to come by bc no other weapons use it beside the M1. I think th HP is the better choice for just that reason.

M1 carbine or Hi-Point carbine : Which one?

I was looking for something to fight with in the event of a "home invasion" type robbery. The HP uses the same ammo as my pistol and is cheaper. That was my thinking process.

M1 carbine or Hi-Point carbine : Which one?

M1- pro: proven design. Con: $800. HP: Pro: $350. Con: bad reputation (columbine murder weapon), limited to 10 round mags only.

How safe to carry BHP pistol at half cock?

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I'll try the oil mold thing and if that doesn't work I will shop for a new holster. I can't swing a new pistol right now. I tow cars in the Detroit area nights and it gets hairy sometimes. People don't like their cars towed.

How safe to carry BHP pistol at half cock?

Got nice holster that fits great and is comfy. But only at half cock. Full cock w/safety on and it doesn't fit at all. (Browning Hi-Power)

    S&W 625JM Captured by Moonies

Never have understood the logic of this gun. A semi-automatic in 45ACP holds more shots, reloads faster, and doesn't require goofing around with any "1/2/full moon" clips. Nice photograph though.

A 'Second-Chance' Colt Trooper Added To Stable!

A used Smith model 66 or 19 is a better gun and a better value if you could get them for the same price. But if you're a Colt collector it is a nice get. Colt's from that era have terrible triggers in my opinion but if you only want it for your collection then who cares? Congrats.

Colt 9mm semi Auto can't hit a barn with it

Let someone else shoot it and see how they do or put it in a bench rest. Then you'll know rather quickly if it's you or the handgun.

A new Charter Arms snub or a used S&W snub?

Based on my research they cost about the same. It's intended for EDC. Both in .38 Special/blue steel, 5-shot configuration.

glock kaboom incident at the range!

Likely the Glock wasn't problem the ammo was. Put one of Grampa's hot loads in a 1911 and the only difference will be the flavor of the shrapnel.

Calling all Colt collectors... Which Colt Trooper Mk. III to get?

I've had three Troopers over the years. I'd get the six inch; it will hold it's value better because it is more rare. The Trooper MK III series are beautiful looking pieces of craftsmanship but are not as good for actual shooting as a comparable Ruger or S&W IMO.
