Front strap serrations. If you look at the file photo I posted, they are clearly visible. Most of the reviews I read make reference to the grooves. My gun is smooth as a baby's butt. Also didn't get the cheap pistol rug with the Ruger logo.
Just picked up this commander size lw. Was surprised that it has no front serations. I was under the impression they had vertical grooves. Did Ruger discontinue this feature?
Otherwise pretty impressive gun for the price.
Wow, 39ers are an amazing bunch. I always wanted one, and after a lucky bid (or two) on GB and I am the proud owner of a 1957 39A. Only problem I can see is that someone attempted to make a large loop lever out of it and I'm afraid I may not be able to get it back into original shape. Is there...
Can anyone tell me where I can find one of these?

Does anyone know of someone making an extended magazine clamp with a picitiny rail on each side and a sling swivel on the bottom? I'm thinking of welding something together, but surely I'm not the first with this idea...
"drill another gas port in the barrel and tap it"
That's a great idea! I wonder what size I would need to go to. I really need to get my hands on a 2 3/4 chambered gun and look at the gas ports.
I have a 1100 Remington 20 gauge standard weight (Not LW) gun that is chambered for 3" shells. If I switch to a barrel for 2 3/4 only shells will that let me shoot regular 2 3/4 target loads?
Just got my first AR 15 and would like some suggestions on magazines to purchase. Are there different manufacturers that work better with the Rock River Arms guns? Or possibly any that I should avoid? I would welcome any advise that could save me from buying a bunch of stuff that may not work.
I never said I had a problem with it. My concern was that it shed a negative light on all gun owners and even though OC is legal in Iowa with a CC permit, I couldn't see the purpose of it when all he would have had to do was untuck his shirt and it would have been covered. Since the law in...
Was in the local bar the other night, and a gentleman came into the bar with a pistol sticking out of his pants - small of the back carry. He proceeded to sit down on a bar stool and have a couple NA beers with the bar owner. This was a busy Friday night and more than a few people noticed and...
I'd take my chances with most gun dealers
I've dealt with quite a few and feel I've always been treated fairly. That's not to say I haven't made some really stupid purchases and sold some stuff too cheap, but that was my decision. Maybe I'm just a naive Midwesterner!
