    Century CETME or L1A1?

With the L1A1 I have heard problems with the normal bolts, however the sand cut bolts have better reliability..is there a way to get a different bolt with the sand cuts? or does it really not matter as long as you are not dragging it through the mud, etc?

    Century CETME or L1A1?

So..I have recently gotten the urge to get a semi-auto .308, mainly because I just like the cartridge, and I like semi auto :D the 2 contenders that immediately popped into my head were the L1A1 and Cetme. Now, I know they both come from Century which would make some turn tail and run. However...

    The PSL

So..The next gun I've considered getting is a PSL. What I know so far: A common misconception is that it is a Dragunov SVD. NOT TRUE. The PSL is actually quite different from the SVD rifle. I've been looking at getting one because I just want an affordable, hard hitting semi auto centerfire...

    Yugo M57

Mgmorden, I also ordered mine from Widener's. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...It took around 3 weeks to get mine. When I called after 4 days of no shipping they told me that they were filled with orders and shipping was taking much longer then usual. They told me I could get a full...

    Yugo M57

Yes! Just resolved the problem. Took a light and held the slide back and moved the slide stop a bit and saw where it moved. Then placed a mag in and saw that the part that engages the slide was too low and was not engaging! took the other mag it came with and works like a charm. With a little...

    Yugo M57

Not sure if the magazine is engaging, haven't checked. So it is the magazine that locks the slide? If so, what would be the best way to approach seeing if the slide engages the mag?

    Yugo M57

My Yugo M57 Tokarev just came in today and after disassembling, boiling the cosmoline off, and oiling, I tried to reassemble the pistol when I noticed a problem. When I rack the slide, it does not lock back. I've been working at this for at least 2 hours with no luck. The slide stop appears to...

AK47, Assault Rifle or Battle Rifle?

I've been wondering lately...would the AK47 be considered a Battle Rifle because of the .30 cal round it shoots? Or is it considered an assault rifle because it lacks the power of, say, a 7.62x51 NATO? By definition a Battle Rifle is a select fire rifle that shoots a full power rifle cartridge...

    CZ-52, Tokarev, or Makarov

I've been looking at some Yugo M57 reviews and I've been seeing TONS of problems. Things like 25 pound trigger pulls, bad accuracy, only firing after 2 trigger pulls, and problems with bore diameters. Are all these problems worst case scenario? did they get bad pistols? I'm starting to worry...

    CZ-52, Tokarev, or Makarov

I've been looking to get a new handgun and these 3 pistols came to mind: The CZ-52, the Tokarev, and the Makarov. The CZ and Tok are both chambered for the 7.62x25 round which appears to be pretty cheap while the Makarov is chambered for 9x18 Makarov. What pistol would you guys get for a fun...

    AK47

Decided to take my rommy AK47 out of the safe on Saturday for some fun shooting at the range. Put a 4x POSP scope on it loaded up a mag and set up a 12 inch steel target at 150 yards. Using wolf steel case ammo, I hit that plate every single time. I then noticed a 6 inch plate at 200 yards a...

    Tokarev 7.62x25

Thanks for all the answers guys! And Mgmorden: I have been looking at ammo from J&G sales I will put a link up... it says cracked necks are common..thats seems like a problem! I don't know how many you can expect to have that problem but it is dirt cheap...

    Tokarev 7.62x25

Hello everyone, I was looking at some pistols the other day and I decided to look at some C&R pistols. One interesting pistol I came across is the Yugo Tokarev M57 TT. It looks like an interesting little pistol. I wanted to know, if any of you guys own one, how does it shoot? Is it reliable? Is...

    M1 Garand, or Dragunov Clone?

Hello everyone, I've been recently thinking about getting an M1 Garand as you may know if you saw one of my other threads. However, a new rifle has come to mind. A Dragunov Clone, (probably a PSL) has piqued my interest. Ballistically, the 30-06 and the 7.62x54R seem more or less equal. The PSL...

    M1 Garand

Hey guys I was thinking about getting an M1 Garand.. I was thinking of a Service Grade.. If any of you have Service Grade M1's how were they in terms of stock condition, metal parts, bore, and things like that. I understand the CMP grade "Service Grade" Is not too great in terms of quality so I...

    AK47 question...

Yes, it said for 7.62x39 models..I did need to use the adapter to get it on and everything appears to be tight and straight.. the brake shows no signs of having bullets being deflected off, however.

    AK47 question...

Hey guys I just noticed a large problem on my AK when I went to the range. Using a slant muzzle brake on my WASR 10/63 with a 4x POSP scope I can usually get 2 inch groups at 100 yards with wolf ammo :what: however.. I saw an AK74 style brake for AK47's that reduced recoil and muzzle climb more...

    Hakim

How exactly does it "eat" the finger? Is it if your finger is in the action and you hit that device to close the bolt? Another question, though, have any of you heard of the FN49? Can anyone give me any info on the FN? How would you guys think in your opinions an FN49 stacks up to a Hakim?
