I think the arsenal cartouche
is actually 6636
/6\
/636\
the only arsenal that is datable
is /26\ and that is within a year
or so.
You made a very good buy at that
price. You can find the sling, bayonet
and cleaning kit on eBay.
Your hubby can find all the info he
needs...
Chicharrones,
It sounds like you have the 27 lb spring
for commercial soft primmer ammo.
Wolff has a 31 lb spring that works well
for the commercial soft primmer and the
import hard primmer. The original spring
is 34 lb.
The SKS with the stamped receiver usually
sells for twice the amount of the milled
SKS due to the very low numbers imported.

Mine is at 17.5" no issues with cycling.

Many of the reproduction strippers
are to wide at the ends. It's not a
carrier problem, don't file the guides.
Look on eBay for the Yugo strippers
that came with the M-67 ammo.
My guess is that it has gone through a refurb
process. The long barrel lug/collar and the
lightning cut on the bolt carrier are found on
the earlier (pre 65 or so)and the stamped trigger
group came on the mid 70's models. The receiver
appears to have been scrubbed. At any rate a
very nice...
I believe Kivarri was using the 27.5# hammer spring
that was causing the light primmer strikes and is now
using the new Wolff 31# spring, eliminating the light
strikes. The original factory spring is 34#. As others
have stated, best money you can spend on your SKS
