The M1A is NOT an accurate rifle. It can be accurized somewhat, and if you dump cash into it, maybe even very accurate. But out of the box any modern rifle like the AR10, SCAR, etc will be far more accurate.

I've had an issue where SA and CMI 5 and 10 round magazines only hold 4+1 and 9+1 respectively, in order to comply with certain states' laws. I just trim the legs of the follower slightly to make them true 5+1 and 10+1 capacity.

I love my old 1984 Savage 110 30-06. Excellent and simple rifle. It really has an elegant, yet utilitarian feel.

a few years ago I passed up an amazing deal for one of these that was not sporterized, and was still in its war time configuration. that one was $229. they seem to cost alot more now though. At $250, with no sights at all, it seems like an OK deal as long as you can find sights... not sure where...

The RAT stock is cool, but there are better stocks available. The cleaning rod setup is neat, but there's barely enough space for a brush, and the stock isn't a very tight for on the receiver extension.

I think this is a great idea, though that price is way too high... Hopefully in the $2-3K range.

The IMOD is a good stock, but I too much prefer the B5 SOPMOD and SOPMOD bravo stocks. as far as rails, surefire rails are heavy and outdated. Check out Daniel Defense. But remember that Centurion rails use the stock barrel nut, so in your case they would simply drop in. Huge advantage.
