How do you store loose primers?

I usually pull a hand ful (all caibers)l over the course of the winter and I just reload them in the proper case and set it aside.

I'm considering updating my reloading apparatus

For the amount of reloading you do, I throw my hat into the Lee Classic Turret ring. I reload 8-10000 rounds a year (hmm, thinking more than that?) And I use the Lee CT.

    Restoring my dad's Remington 721

All fathers should have a son (or daughter ) like you . Your father will be proud of what you have done. Well done, sir. Well done.

    Tumbling cases

I've tumbled live rounds but I would never tumbled just primed rounds. A small amount of trapeed tumbling media could raise case pressure beyond desired limits, I would think.

Started to wet tumble - what are effects of leftover Dawn soap?

I use the Frankford wet tumble system. I use 1/4 tsp of original Lemishine and a small squirt of Dawn. When I am done tumbling I rinse two to three times . I've never had excessive foaming. Never.

    Vibrates but media won't Tumble

I am curious about all the negative FA reports because my six year old tumbler and separator have tumbled many thousands of pieces without issue. The only thing that broke was a short in the wire this spring. $10 worth of electrical plugs and a 5' piece of scrap extension cord and I was back...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Murf, Thank you for that unasked for safety lesson. ;) Your post did mention one point that I couldn't agree more with and that is that the safety is there to add to or help you be safe. Thus my follow on question. As I mentioned, both of my carry pistols have safeties whereas my two Sigs...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Good comments by all. Thank you for your opinions. How about another question? What is your opinion on semi-autos with safeties? When I was in my local Fun store and explained that I was in a preliminary mode of just seeing what is out there, he asked "safety or no safety?" Hmm, hadn't...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Sir Gilligan's, Impressive shooting. After we do some range time, I may suggest something like this. I guess I need to do some reading on .22 WMR for self defense. My biggest (perceived) issue with light weight pistols of any flavor, Airweight or my Cobra, is the recoil. My wife commented...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

While I admit that the 2" Cobra's barrel makes target practice essential, I can accurately hit a 4" target at 10 yards all day long. However, for any close quarters, I agree that one needs to know how to handle a pistol using instinctive pointing, something I have not practiced.

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Rusty, must of the points you cover in your first paragraph I addressed in my responses and or questions. Unfortunately in my area there are not any gun shops or ranges that rent hand guns. I wish we had some so I could do that myself. Good comments on the .22 WMR although none of the .22 or...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

One, how does one get proficient unless you start at square one and work on it? We'll see what she wants to try after our first range session. I consider myself almost as good with my Cobra as I am with its 4 inch cousin but I practive.

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Murf, After safety basics, gun familiarization, sighting principles, we'll head to the range starting out with a Ruger SR22. At some point I'll introduce the revolver and semi-autos. We'll see how that goes but the only way that I wounderstand recommend either a .22 or .380 is if she is very...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

ku4hx, I wish I had access to a few different Glocks but I don't own any because they don't fit my hand. What i do have are two Sigs, 9 and .40, two S&Ws, also 9 and .40, plus 5 or 6 revolvers all in .38, Ruger SR22 and two very old .380s, a Colt Pocket hammerless 1908 and a Remington Model 51...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

ArchAngelCD, If your reply is suggesting that this woman isn't going to practice, then you don't have to worry. We talked about practice and she agreed that initial practice plus regular practice is a must. For the record, my wife doesn't carry except for the very few times that I need to dump...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Good comments and I have thought of most of them from steel vs alloy/polymer, six versus five shots, two inch barrel versus three or four, concealed carry versus purse, and I talked to her about range time and practice and then practice some more. I told her that more folks are killed with cars...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Long story short, my wife has a female friend who has a desire to own a pistol for personal protection. After I tried (unsuccessfully) to teach my wife the finer points of semi-auto handgun usage, I finally switched to a Colt Cobra and she loved it. Based on that experience, when my wife's...

    Lee Classic Turret question(s)

Higgite, I put a drop of oil/lube on the sides of the turret but I have usually kept the rod clean since the ratcheting square relies on friction to ride up as the ram comes down. When I first got my CT a few years ago, I lubed everything up and then eventually just the ram and the turret with...

    Lee Classic Turret question(s)

Or maybe I am too ham fisted, moving the turret while the ram isn't at least half way up. I don't know. I am keeping track of this one to see what I really am getting out of them
