first let me say that i'm really glad you're able to afford very nice, well crafted, high end pistols.
However;
many of us are simply unable to afford such weapons. ( house notes car notes kids to feed and other such trivial stuff,)
my first pistol heavier than a 22...
the 22. Lr is a given.....however i hadn't given much thought to the 22.mag.....might deserve another look.....definitely a valid point......a sub-2000 has def crossed my radar and is a likely addition.....one reason i'm looking at leverguns is that on my budget my firearms tend to be the ones...

i am primarily a pistol and shotgun guy.....i need a decent rifle for my bug out kit. I have an afinity for old west style weapons. my primary pistol is a xd9 and my back up will be a ruger blackhawk convertible ( 9mil/357.) bear in mind with the exception of the xd these are to be mainly bug...

They offer a compact version ( at least in the newer XDm line) i have a first gen xd 9 ( full size) and i absolutely love it. and that's coming from a die hard wheelgun guy.
i have an xd 9 and find that with winter/ fall clothing the provided kydex holster conceals quite easily......in the summer i swap to an uncle mike' IWB Holster and carry just as easily. when the situation simply doesn't allow a full size pistol, i carry a cobra derringer in 38. Spl.
