    Is the problem ejecting or extracting. The extractor is a spring type deal that snaps over the bolt, the ejector is a wire spring below the bolt.

    Put a stick of wood across the cylinder face and run the rammer on it, accepted way to remove the barrel from a colt.

    How does the flint rub on the way down the frizzen?

    I hope you didn't Dremel the case hardening off the frizzen or sparks will be pretty rare until you re-harden it.

    Casting Issues

    Remove the sprue plate and clean the burrs up on the under side, rub it a few passes over 1000grit or finer wet or dry sand paper. Make sure the edges are properly chamfered too. Do likewise on the top of the mold, clean that gulling up. Don't sand the mold to remove metal, just to clean it up...

    Make sure all the screws are tight and that the ejector didn't fall down in the works when you took it apart.

    How do you age your brass?

    Regular wipe on gun blue will darken it and will look better than the brass black. After treating it rub the edges and other hi-lights out on your blue jeans or something else rough to give it a more realistic looking wear pattern.

    Empty tins?

    Handy for storing small springs, screws and other small parts in. I burn the paint off of a few and then polish and put char cloth or flints or spare patching in, just for my plunder bag. I never seem to throw them away.

    Get a Green River 45 or 50 1in 70 drop in barrel, it will shoot round balls with much better accuracy than the factory barrel. If you go too small on the caliber, you will end up with a heavy gun.

    hard case latch repair

    If you are gonna repair it, Lee Valley has a nice assortment of hardware. I would add a steel backer plate to keep the latches from pulling out again.
