Hornady L-n-L sub-plate scrapes cam feed

Seems so. Thanks guys, it really starts to seem that the part #18 has been damaged in our recent move. No wonder it was difficult to adjust :uhoh:

Hornady L-n-L sub-plate scrapes cam feed

Thanks guys. I'll try to adjust the top/bottom screws some more, but it seems to be a challenge :) Here's some pics of the situation: pics

Hornady L-n-L sub-plate scrapes cam feed

I'm gonna contact Hornady for this next week, but if someone knows ... The sub-plate (part #24) is scraping against the cam feed primer (part #18). The curved vertical part that moves the primer slide front and back. I'm not sure what I did to cause the problem, and I don't know how to...

    My Glock has been Zipgraved.....

I like 'em both. They've been done in good taste. I wouldn't worry about resale value. Both guns are great and there shouldn't be need to sell them ... at least I wouldn't.

Sellier & Bellot ammo, any good??

good stuff I have shot thousands of round of S&B ammo in 9mm, .45 ACP, .38 Special and .357 magnum. Never a problem. It's priced right, fairly accurate, hot, and reliable. For the reloader there are two shortcomings: - as mentioned before, the primer pockets are military crimped, which...

    Bullet seating problem

yes snuff, thanks for your reply. The bullets I use are made by a Finnish bullet company called Archipelago Bullets. They re-strike *some* of their bullets, but not the .44's. They state clearly in their package the diameter, and the bullets are fairly consistently in that size. I just...

    Vihtavuori N110 & .44 Magnum

Thanks. I decided to go with 21,2 grains of Vihtavuori N110. It should be on the safe side. After these bullets have been shot, I will buy something else - something which is listed in the manuals ;) (I had problems with seating these bullets anyway. See my other thread)

    Bullet seating problem

my guess Hi guys, I have come to the conclusion after investigating the matter more, that the problem was caused by overdiameter bullets. The bullet does not need to touch the seating stem to get scratched. There could have been also manufacturing variance in the bullet diameter, causing some...

    Bullet seating problem

Here's a mystery for you to solve: - I crimp and seat bullet to .44 Magnum with Lee carbide die - I set a light crimp (1/4 turn) and seating depth to 1.610" (OAL) - Most (95%) seats ok to the desired OAL, but the rest, seat too deep, to about 1.570" I understand that there is a normal small...

    Vihtavuori N110 & .44 Magnum

Hi guys, I have some N110 powder which I intend to use to load .44 magnum, but currently I have only 215gr plated bullets. I can't find load data for that anywhere, and I'd like to use them :( Closest ones are: 200gr XTP 23,7gr N110 (starting load) 26,2gr (max) 240gr jacketed 19,8gr...

Sell me on the Glock 21

internet and information sights, of the three choices you list I would take the 1911. If you buy one from any reputable brand you don't need to spend any extra. It will work just fine. You can get a lemon from any manufacturer, not just 1911. With 1911 you get amazing trigger, great...

    Rounds per hour with progressive?

whoa Thanks everyone, lots of great info! I just GOT TO load some more tonight :D

    Rounds per hour with progressive?

I got my Hornady L-n-N progressive mounted and adjusted recently, and I also loaded my first batch of 100 rounds with it. It took me 50 minutes to load 'em. With progressive, it seems to me I can load as fast as I can fetch a new bullet and shell and turn the lever up/down. I did it in...

    1911 reduced mainspring weight risks

1911Tuner, that sounds reasonable. I have the 19lbs spring installed now, but I intend to shoot only target loads with it. Fast powder, and starting loads. For full-power loads, I will change it to 21lbs or 23lbs.

    1911 reduced mainspring weight risks

HSMITH, I have a Wolff set with 3 springs: 19, 20 and 21 lbs. I have no need to go below the 19lbs one, but just would like to know of potential risks with reduced springs.

    1911 reduced mainspring weight risks

Can you tell me if there are any downsides to changing the factory 23lbs to a reduced power one, other than theoretical light primer strikes? I have read somewhere that the hammer & mainspring play some role in slowing down the slide movement in the recoil, and you shouldn't change the spring...

What else Hornady LnL AP needs?

1911user, ok, thanks for the clarification. I will most propably order it soon. I will also consider buying the taper crimp die too ...

What else Hornady LnL AP needs?

1911user, I thought that everything else than the L-n-L + shellplate + dies (Lee carbide 3-set) would be optional. The pistol-powder-stem (or something like that) sounds like it's almost a must to get, but could you help me out which part(s) these are? (product numbers, please). I...

What else Hornady LnL AP needs?

Ok, guys, thanks for the suggestions. It seems to me that I have already all the basic things I need, rest is optional and just adds comfort. I may get them at later time.

What else Hornady LnL AP needs?

Thanks for the reply. I checked out the instruction manual, and if I understood correctly, the press should come with four (4) bushings and o-rings.
