I've recently picked up a series 70 Gold Cup. It shoots great but the trigger is 5 1/2 pounds. I'd like to drop it to 4 pounds for Bullseye competition. If you'd explain the extra parts in a GC (not to be confused with the series 80 non-Gold Cup) for other readers of this thread, that might...
I have an H&R M12 that I'll never shoot in competition. I was thinking about rechambering it to 22wmr. Will the bolt/lock handle the added pressure? It looks like there's plenty of throw. Wouldn't this be a sweet little varmint gun?

I need to slightly increase the weight of trigger pull on my 1911. ~1/4#. Is there an art to the science of bending the leg of trigger spring? Start at the bottom? Middle? End of the tang?
Swap the spring for a different one?

My son got good grades through last session and wanted an upgrade from his Rossi singleshot 243win. His "Triple Play" (Rimfire, .243win and 20ga barrels), was quite adequate for a starter rifle for his 13 and 14 year old hunting season. Price point to jump up after selling that was less than...

Looking at the components we have on hand, We're wondering if there's a light load for hand thrown clays or Grouse for 2 3/4" 12ga, say.. an ounce and an eigth #7ish using H4227 powder. Our limited resources only...
We had some snow, then some floodin here in the northwest. Now that Ma Nature is behaving herself, league has started just a couple weeks late. In fact, some of us have missed a month of practice sessions.
So last night was my first night of competition since July last year. Since there are...
I've aquired an Eddystone that was sporterized long ago. My father'n law's rifle has seen better days. The finish is nearly gone, but its not rusted at all. The sight ears are long milled off. (professionally) Drilled and tapped for scope mount. Looks to be an aftermarket 30-06 barrel. Icky...
OK, I'm looking at a Marlin XL7 in .270win for my son. Only draw back for a modern hunting rifle is that it doesn't have a detachable magazine or even a drop open floor plate. I love the Tikka, but it's a bit out of the tax bracket right now.
The boy says to sell his Rossi Triple Play, .22...
And we must remember that the military 5.56 round is not designed to kill. At its inception during the Viet Nam war, it was meant to maim and require more of the enemy to attend to the wounded than alow another of the enemy shooting back at our U.S. troops.
At this point I plan on spending the first week of August in Chelan with the wife and the boys.
I was wonderin.. Are there Coyote opportunities in that area if I was to bring the boys' rifles with us?
Several times, I've tried to get permission to shoot at the Chelan gun club during our...

But, regarding Colt 1911 series 70's & 80's. Three part inquiry.
What are the differences in the frame/internals?
What are the differences in the slide/internals?
I realize there were probably some changes...

I'm happy with my average right now so I'm taking the rest of the series off, (I think), since I have enough scores submitted for league. So last evening I took my youngest boy. He's a smaller guy so he shot my slightly customized, iron sighted, SS MKII Target Bull barrel, two handed . This was...
Justin has a thread in the reloading section. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=4156456#post4156456
Those of you that shoot Bullseye, what do you use for bullets? I've been pouring my own for practice, and have found out that they're not near as accurate, (although they look fine)...
