    1882

Shot an 1882 Colt today, I was looking for some baloon head cases, not to reload, but to have as an example of "what used to be used". Does anybody know where I can find a few for historical value?

    .243 Reloads

Here are a few other pictures. Thanks for the input. I will get load data and post that as well. There seemed to be damage to the lands/grooves in the barrel as well, at the base just past the bore, on one side.

    .243 Reloads

A friend was shooting .243 reloads and he had a catastrophic failure. Based on the attached pictures can you tell me what caused it?

    British. 303

Purchased a. 303, can anyone here help me identify a number/Mark number? I think it is a No. 1 Mark III, it has been sporterized but it is cool. Markings have it at 1916, I will post pics once I figure that out.

How do you sharpen your knives?

The Lansky system has been my choice for 15 years. I am used to it and can gaurantee a knife that will "shave" if the steel will allow it.

    For Glock 19 owners

17 years old and only two jams; a CCI shot round and a reload (this year). Still a daily carry. Plan to replace all springs this month as preventive maintenance.

    Smith& Wessons Governor

It shoots .410 (defense rounds too) plus .45 long colt and .45 ACP if you have moon clips. What a great mix of self-defense! It turns left so stagger accordingly.

How effective have Shotguns proven to be in combat?

While I am a Marine Corps Veteran, I did not carry a shotgun into combat (only a M16A2). I do have two friends, one that was in USMC Radio Reconnaissance and another in the Army Rangers. Both utilized a shotgun in their operations. The Marine issued one to his point man (1993ish) the Ranger...

    Your FIRST knife

I sold greeting cards door to door to earn enough to purchase a used Buck 110, $15.00. I did it and still carry that knife, like the Duke boys did, today.

    Glock 19

I carry a Glock 19 that my wife first purchased as an LEO (Beretta did not fit her hand). Are there any recommended upgrades/replacements after 14 years of service? I am thinking primarily of springs and trigger. The gun has not ever experienced a malfunction and I carry it daily. Great...

    First handgun - free choice

I concur with those that suggest the .357 revolver. You can practice with the lighter .38 Special and have less moving parts to "learn in the dark". I would not recommend picking a home defense weapon based on looks, pick the one that hits what you aimed at, consistently. Consider what you...

    Reloading

I have been "shown" how to reload ammo (pistol and rifle) but I want to understand what has to be done, why and how it is done and the parameters that ensure it has been done correctly. Are there books or videos that you would suggest? I just want to do it right.
