    S&W 36, J-frame kydex?

Thanks everyone! I've been using an uncle mike's fabric pocket holster but I miss the stability that my old kydex pocket holsters provided me; I've never owned one for a revolver though. This one definitely has some character to it - though I was considering shipping it off to get reblued

    S&W 36, J-frame kydex?

Is the old chief's special close enough in size to fit in a kydex pocket holster designed for a j frame? Specifically a 642/442. I Googled up and couldn't find anything helpful. Thanks!

Which Is A Better .357? Colt, Ruger, Smith?

Of the current production revolvers, I'll take a ruger any day of the week. But an old hand-tuned colt would trump that in a heartbeat

    Desert Eagle 44 mag thoughts

I've always wanted a DE .357 - it's one of my bucket list guns that unless I just happen to come into a bunch of money I'll probably never own one, but if I ever strike it rich I'll darn sure be getting one. That same statement applies to the BFR in 30-30 as well.

In Or Out Of The Pocket

I started off carrying IWB every day, but it wasn't worth it for me. Now I just slip a j frame into my pocket and call it a day. If I'm going to be out and about (read: not doing much sitting) or if I'm working the concession stand (my wife works for the city so I get 'volunteered' to sell...

    My First J-Frame

Yes, despite what I read online I opted for the Size 3 and I do wish I had trusted in the reviews and gotten the 4. If it had a spurless hammer it might fit better but I do think a #4 is in my future.

    My First J-Frame

Thanks everyone - I thought I mentioned in the original post that it's a Model 36, but it looks like I forgot to. Here's a pic, Uncle Mike's pocket holster (which is just a hair too small for the gun) and hogue grips:

    My First J-Frame

Although my first firearm was a full-sized Taurus revolver, and I currently own a Dan Wesson 5" .357, most of my guns have all been semi-autos. My search for the perfect CCW has led me from one semi-auto to another: my first CCW was a Glock 26. Great gun - reliable, accurate, and the perfect gun...

    J Frame wood+metal grips

Oh, I see; that explains why they're so hard to find when I try searching for them. Thanks!

    J Frame wood+metal grips

I see grips every now and then that look like standard classic wood grips, but with added metal for grip. Pic that I found shown below. Is there a name for grips of this type? Is there a good source online to buy them? I have a blued S&W 36 chief's that they would go good on...

    Weaver T36

I've found plenty of reviews online but I trust the folks here a THR more than anything, so... I'm interested in getting a Weaver T36 (36x fixed power), my intent will be to put it on a CZ 527 Varmint (.223 Remington). Its primary (if not exclusive) purpose will be for 100yds shooting...

    What's your "never buy" gun?

sorry to hear that, I love mine. eats steel cased, federal, critical defense, anything I put in it. and real accurate for a subcompact. my only complaint is that it's just too big for pocket carry, I'm trying to find someone to trade me a j frame or lcr for mine

    .223 for Beginners

Thanks a lot for your input everyone - this is why I love this place. Based on the information here, and additional research, I've decided I'm going to go with the CZ 527 Varmint. For a scope it will likely end up being either a Monarch, or a Weaver T36

    .223 for Beginners

Also, I called around a few places today and 22 is every bit as hard to come by as people here have said it is, but 223 is all over the place. Time to start researching CZ, Savage, and Marlin bolt action 223s...

    .223 for Beginners

While reading up on the 527 I've seen reports of scope clearance issues that make many scopes difficult if not impossible to use with the factory bolt. Can anyone speak to whether or not this is still the case?

    .223 for Beginners

ugaarguy : (and if that's a UGA reference, go 'dawgs) I also recently had someone PM me directly talking about the M&P Sport, which sparked me to do some research. Everything about it (at least, the reviews I've read) points to it being a great rifle at a great price. Definitely something to...
