Glock 21 kaBOOM! Should I Buy One?

I saw that article years ago. Doesn't really convince me as it is too anecdotal, and no way to really verify it

Glock 21 kaBOOM! Should I Buy One?

Do you have a source for this?

Glock 21 kaBOOM! Should I Buy One?

I was considering a Glock 21 .45 ACP. While looking into it, I ran across people who had experienced "kaBOOM's" with them. As in, a catastrophic failure of the gun blowing up. After looking into that, it seems that the culprit may be the partially unsupported case mouth, although this is also up...

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

I'm not concerned about accuracy at all, and as long as it doesn't shorten the life of the gun, I'm pretty sure I'm going to jump on it.

Shotgun for HD and hunting HELP!

I really wanted a steel receiver, Mossberg is aluminum. I know Mossberg aluminum receivers are very good, I just have a preference.

Shotgun for HD and hunting HELP!

Sounds like it... I think the new ones have interchangeable barrels if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if the new ones are as well made as the old ones...

Shotgun for HD and hunting HELP!

I'm sure those would be fine, but I just have a bad taste in my mouth with Remington. I'd like to explore other options.

Shotgun for HD and hunting HELP!

Now that duck season's about over here, it's time to evaluate inventory. Up until now I've been using two Remington 870's. One would consistently lock up and I wouldn't be able to work the action at all. I know that sounds weird and I even took it to gunsmiths several times. They did they're...

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

I thought so. I'd be surprised if .45 ACP could do that. But yes, I'd probably be shooting mostly jacketed rounds through it, cause that's what I shoot out of my 1911.

gas cutting, like on the top strap?

    Ruger Revolvers Longevity?

Well then sounds to me like I wouldn't be going wrong with a SRH Alaskan 454. I'd only be shooting .45 Colt anyway, so it's essentially an extra-extra heavy duty .45 Colt DA revolver

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

So then how do the oversized cylinder throats matter?
  14. L

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

So the oversized throats don't put any extra stress on anything, like the bullet hitting the forcing cone and therefore stressing the frame?
  15. L

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

Well, I'm more concerned about the bullet perhaps beating up the forcing cone or something, is that possible? And would that put stress on the frame? Longevity is my concern.

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

I'M SO SORRY i meant to put a 6 instead of a 4 at the end of .454. It's not oversized to .454, it's .456. Again, I'm sorry. Not a master at the keyboard.

    Ruger Revolvers Longevity?

These are pretty promising testimonials. I occasionally see someone on these boards talk about how the cast rugers won't last as long as a Smith and whatnot, but there seem to be a lot more people with good things to say.

    S&W Model 25 .45 ACP Problems?

I have a guy offering to sell me his S&W M25 .45 ACP revolver. He hasn't shot it much and I inspected it. The only thing he said that was "wrong" with it was that the throat were oversized at about .456, which could affect accuracy. He also said a lot of m25's were like that until some of the...

    Ruger Revolvers Longevity?

Yeah, I just don't think 25-50k rounds of .38 Special is really excessive. Yes, it's a lot, but enough to wear out the frame??? I hope not.

So much for the promise Ruger will fix their firearms

I don't think 25k-50k rounds of .38 Special is excessive at all.
