    Spotting Scope decisions... Opinions?

Other thing about the Kowa is witht he changable eye piece you have some options. Also, the fixed mad eyepieces do have a pretty good eye relief! Especially the one designed in 30+mm of eye relief is almost unheard of. They do get a bit pricey though once you start to add things up! More...

    Spotting Scope decisions... Opinions?

Hi Laphroaig, I had someone else suggest the Kowa. Did take a look but will again. Thanks for the link Manny. Those gold rings are supposed to be pretty good as well. Forgto to look over at Midway and see what deals they had when I put the list together. Haven't pulled the trigger yet so will...

    Spotting Scope decisions... Opinions?

Thanks guys. That Ziess is kind of nice but expensive! Nothing around less than $1500. Would prefer to find something for a bit less. That is a good point Walkalong. Something else to consider though maybe a 16-48 might be a better compromise. After digging around on youtube, the viper and...

    Spotting Scope decisions... Opinions?

Hi All, OK I am in the market for a spotting scope. Kind of want to make one purchase to handle a couple of different things. Purpose 1: Use at the range, 100-200 yards normal, up to 500 yards once in a while would be nice. Purpose 2: Use for Bird watching up to couple of hundred yards or more...

Scope suggestions for new rifled 870

Hi all, have some thoughts but thought I would see what the community would suggest. Picked up the other day a closeout Remington 870 with 23" rifled barrel. I drew a second deer tag this year for an area near me that is firearm restricted, as well as heavily vegetation. I plan to shoot...

    FNS40 Closeout Price

Hey Warp, True about the mags $$ depends on how many you like to have around. I have found mags for down around $30 at the gun shows and occasionally online on armslist and other places. Except maybe for glock and AR mags most mags are more in the 25-35 range from what I have seen. Maybe a...

    FNS40 Closeout Price

???? :banghead: What? Are you crazy? There are plenty of arguments for and against the 40 versus 9mm. Don't want to rehash them again here. But there are reasons that for some people and usages the 40 may be better and what is needed. The biggest advantage I see and why I am seriously...

A year carrying the M&P Shield

Yep, its my carry firearm as well. Though I do have a safety version. And they shoot quite well for being a very compact firearm.

    Shotgun Jam issues, Suggestions

Update, So I went out to the range over the weekend. 18 barrel was flawless as usually, fired everything no problems. Switched to the 26.fired some estate buck, Winchester aa, federal #4 buck. Worked just fine. Switched over to the Rio low recoil buck. Fire, JAM. Had to take everything...

    Shotgun Jam issues, Suggestions

Don't remember seeing any but I'll take another look to make sure. Do like those honing rods. I think the barrel came from Brownell's in the first place so if necessary will take your advice and return it. More testing to follow.

    Shotgun Jam issues, Suggestions

Will try it with some better ammo as you suggest. And test with both barrels to make sure of the culprit. Thanks for the thoughts. Will see what happens this weekend!

    Shotgun Jam issues, Suggestions

Thanks figured I would try it some more. As to ammo the initial rounds were of the better HD and 00 buck to make sure it worked. Last two were one each of Royal Rio 00 and Rio low recoil 00. It jammed on the Low recoil but was a bit difficult to get the reg 00 out. Yes I cleaned it well...

    Shotgun Jam issues, Suggestions

Hi All, I have a Winchester SXP Defender. About 3.5 years old. Have only put maybe 20 or so shells through it. Bought a 28" barrel for it. Out at the range had the first shot go bang and be a bit difficult to pump and clear the shell. Loaded another and shot just fine but would not allow...

    Winchester SXP Shotguns Question

Thanks nickle, Stumbled over that thread last night as well. There seems to be a 26" barrel made especially for the SXP defender. Hard as all get out to find someone with one in stock. There seems to be questions about whether that 28" barrel actually works for the defender version or not. I...

    Winchester SXP Shotguns Question

OK, May seem like a dumb question but here it goes! I know the SXP series has some capability of swapping barrels say between a bird and slug barrel. The question is I have a Winchester SXP Defender that I got a while back. Don't use it as much for home defense but it is still a backup. Can...

    Gun safe recommendation

I took the time to really look as well and if you can afford one you just cannot beat Graffunder. CB900F helped me get mine. I'll get around to posting some pictures in a thread soon. But if you want a real 'safe' spend the couple of hundred more and get a Graffunder. Anytime you talk real safes...

ATF Director to Congress: All 5.56 Ammo Poses A Threat To Officer Safety

You could probably add 9mm, 30 carb, 7.62, 40, 45, ..... To the list. What a dingbat. Even a 22 is a threat in the hands of a competent shooter. Wish these anti-gunners would get a clue.

Has the 12 gauge lost popularity as a HD gun over the past few years

I keep one around but my Handgun is the first line. Once I get to the safe and get it open then I have choices. You can argue both ways for its use or not. But the 12ga has a fairly vicious recoil for smaller people and older people. And there are so many choices these days. Cat_IT_guy...
