really average tree is 100 ft thats some pretty tall trees, average tree in my area and anywhere I have hunted is about 30 feet! a power pole is only about 25 ft, your trees are 4 times taller than a power pole ???? really??? i guess its possible but you must have some unusually tall trees in...

    Is this a coydog?

it looks like a domesic cross , I dont think its a coyote cross, even it it were it would have fear of humans because it would have been raised by coyotes, about 30 years ago we had a pack of wild dogs around our farm, they were were stray domestic dogs of all different breeds that packed up and...

Going deer hunting for the first time

going to buy a 30 30 because a 30 06 wont kill deer?????? ether one will kill deer, but the 30 06 is a much better choice!! my father has hunted for over 65 years and killed over 50 deer with the same 30 06. its more important that you know your gun and shoot it acurately! the cartridge size...

    Caliber Over Kill

to me overkill is useing a gun that is to much for the person shooting it, when i was younger I had trouble shooting my 308 because the recoil was too much for me and i developed a flinching problem and I couldn't hit what i was shooting at. i went to a 257 roberts that has very light recoil...

Time to go to 22 rifle for squirrels

my ruger 10/22 sporter will shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards all day, to make it more challenging, I break ot my ruger single six w/6-1/2" that shoots 1-1/2" groups at 25yds off sand bags. makes for a pretty good challenge in the woods with no bench or sand bags.

Really? A double barrel 1911? Really?

I would think it would be unreliable as well as unsafe, seems like fireing pin spring wear and differnce in ammo could make one chamber fire faster than the other and with a single slide this could be very dangerous.

    Heritage Rough Rider 22

I would like to add to this discussion that the price of a gun or anything for that matter, does not always reflect the quality of said item. a good example is Ruger handguns . I have several Ruger handguns and my opinion is that Rugers are better made than some of the much more expensive...

If you could have only one .38 / 357...

I have a 6" GP100 and love it, I primarily use it for hunting, however I am considering the smaller framed sp101 with w the 4.2 inch barrel to carry when hiking and camping. go with a 357 instead of just a 38 special, because u will have the option of shooting 38 special rounds in the 357

New Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag. I need some help with the second cylinder.

kluge, there is no such thing as a 38 special cylinder for a blackhawk, what happens is residue builds up when you shoot the shorter 38special rounds out of the 357 magnum cylinder, remove the cylinder and clean it really well with somr good solvent and a brass brush, if it has a lot of build up...

New Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag. I need some help with the second cylinder.

as far as grips are concerned, I have hoag mono grips on my single six, and my gp100, and a friend has them on his blackhawk, although they dont look traditional, there very comfortable and really absorb recoil when shooting heavy 357 mag loads.

New Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag. I need some help with the second cylinder.

i believe the 9mm cylinder should have a ridge that the case mouth will sit against because the 9mm is a rimless case, take the cylinder out and look into it with a flashlight or feel for the ridge with a tooth pick or wooden match, if the cylinder is fitted to that gun it should have the last...

    gp100 barrel length??

I have a 6" gp100 that i use primarily for hunting, if you want a 357 for cary and camping and hikeing i would consider the smaller framed sp101 it is now avalable with 4.2 inch barrel as well as shorter barrels. if size and weight isnt a concern i would go with the 4 inch gp100. if size is a...
