The guy at the local scrap yard, said he had a 30 gal barrel of small pieces of lead mixed with tin and a small amount of tungsten. Can this be cast in to bullets or used to harden pure lead. He said it came from a bullet making place, and wants $3.00 a pound does this sound right?
If max case length for 223 is 1.760, and trim length is 1.750, do you have to trim the cases if they are 1.760 or less? I would think you don't have to trim to 1.750. Been reloading pistol for about 15 years but rifle is new to me. I never had to trim pistol.
I think that I did set it on top of the shell holder. It was the only one in the batch of 600 to 700 rounds. If the die had slipped down more would have turnout like it, and none of the rounds needed to be cut to length. So thanks for the help.
