I've had a Delta Elite for several years, in fact it was my carry gun when I lived in a state that was amicable to that type of thing. Like any 1911, mags are the key to reliability. The factory mags weren't the best, but i installed Wilson Combat springs & followers and now they run great. I also have some Wilson 10mm magazines, they work great as well; I've also tried a few .45acp mags in it and some worked surprisingly well.
As was said earlier, you will bulge cases with anything hot. I don't reload for the 10, but if I did I would have invested in getting a gunsmith to install a ramped barrel. I've put the hottest Underwood through it with no failures, though the cases looked pregnant when I picked them up.
The only case rupture I've ever had was my own fault. I got the gun when I was pretty young, and had picked up some Tripp Research mags that seemed really high quality. Alas they sat too low in the magwell to reliably feed, but I was at the range messing with them anyway. I had a round of 180gr Buffalo Bore nosedive twice rather than feeding, which pushed it pretty far back into the case. Being young and stupid I chambered it anyway and pulled the trigger. The case blew out and ripped the guts out of the magazine, and send a few shards of brass back into my hands and face. Safety glasses saved my eyes that day, I'm sure of it. I was scared s**tless, and had a gunsmith check the gun before I shot it again. But as soon as it happened I knew it was my own fault. The gun was totally unharmed thankfully, not sure if the case blowing out was a good or a bad thing really.
I liked it for carry because it was nice and slim compared to a glock 20, although I consider glocks to be great guns and I generally recommend them.
