    WY concealed carry question

Wyoming is a Constitutional carry state, so no permit required, but I'm unsure of something. The law says that you can carry concealed if: (iv) The person does not possess a permit issued under this section, but otherwise meets the requirements specified in paragraphs (b)(i) through (vi)...

    All-purpose, high-quality belt

I'm pretty fond of the Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt. Not dressy at all, but I don't know if you need that. Very stiff and it's nylon, so it won't warp. I use it for everyday as well as OC'ing. http://www.thewilderness.com/index.php?p=product&id=2309&parent=142

    Sling studs 982

Hey all, I just bought a Hawk 982 shotgun, and I am looking for advice on what sling studs I need to get for it. The back one is just a standard machine thread, but the magazine cap is confusing me. There is a hole in it, but it isn't threaded. Can I just get a standard stud and put a nut behind...

    Older Mossberg 500AT

So I'm shopping for a 12 gauge right now, and my local shop has a ~20 year old Mossberg 500AT with something like a 26" barrel for $180. It's a little nicked up on the stock, but functionally it's good and the bore is clean. I originally wanted a shorter barrel, but I hear good things about...

Not everyone loves John Boehner, but...

Here is my letter to the Speaker. He's known to be a caver; we can't let him cave this time! Speaker Boehner, It is inevitable that new restrictive gun control legislation is going to be introduced to Congress in the near future. With a majority in the House, Republicans are able to block...

How to use a sling effectively?

I'm a newbie, so I may not be much help; however, I recently found this: http://hunting.about.com/od/guns/ss/how-to-use-a-rifle-sling_5.htm I tried it out recently, and it's great for me. Easy to carry and very quick to shoulder.

I'm still leaving, but glad my fellow Illinoisans will (hopefully) be able to defend themselves now!

Post-election buying panic mega thread of power

Maybe. I have been trying to decide on whether I should buy an AR15 or a .22 rifle first; preference now goes to the scary-looking, restrict-able one.

    Morning dead hands

Wow, I had no idea. I'll get it checked out next time I see the doctor. Thanks for the input.

    Morning dead hands

I do sleep on a low-quality mattress, maybe that has something to do with it. I have also never had them asleep when awoken suddenly, but it could just be luck. Usually both aren't asleep, but occasionally they are. I could try just slapping the intruder with my club arms :D

    Morning dead hands

I keep my gun handy when I sleep, but I often wake up with "dead hands" due to pinched or compressed nerves, and it takes several seconds of flailing around before I can control them. Any ideas on making them wake up faster?

Camping while hunting, Are Tents Still Safe?

Lots of us camp in bear country without a tent! I don't worry, but I've never been in grizzly country.

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus

I assume the crazed students with weapons had them illegally. As always, gun laws are not obeyed by criminals. We are there to learn, but past incidents have shown that learning is sometimes interrupted in the worst way. I'd rather be able to defend myself. The right of the people to keep...

revo or auto for woods carry in winter?

I love me some revolvers and sometimes a man just needs a .44 mag out in the woods, but I like a Glock in 10mm auto for most things. A whole lotta rounds with better than .357 mag performance in good loads, and lighter to boot. JMO. If I was going somewhere nasty, I'd get a holster than covers...

Where do you live? And why?

Except that my gun has to be unloaded and out of reach in my car, and I can't carry anywhere for any reason except my own property, and I have to get a permit to own anything :p And coming soon: "assault weapons" and hi-cap mags ban, courtesy of Gov. Quinn. Not as bad as Chicago down here...

IL Governor's AWB - If you live in Ilinois call and write NOW!!

Called and e-mailed. For those who do not have the time to compose an e-mail, I sent this. (Not everyone will move out of state, so amend as needed.) "I strongly oppose the proposed ban on so-called "assault weapons" and high-capacity magazines in Illinois. History has shown that these bans...
