Yes Larry Vickers is a .45 expert and was in Delta Force. We know this because he tells us over and over and over...Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch has good things to say about the Glock 21. I'll go with his opinion and my own experience. Particularly like the new G21 SF.
M&P .45 is a better deal than either pistol or the Glock 21 SF. I can't get too excited about Sigs these days. Their quality control and customer service has suffered. Probably because of their production of shiny pistols of various types with. Quantity over quality seem to be their new rule...
I have the M&P fullsize in .40 and also the .45. Love both of them and think they are a great deal for the money. They have been stone cold reliable with all kinds of ammo.
I prefer the M&P which is also much more reasonably priced and Smith has better service than HK. I also think the bore axis on this pistol is rather high and it feels unbalanced or top heavy. I am not a fan of DA/SA but at least this trigger doesn't suck as much as most HK triggers do. It does...
"The M&P is actually an American refinement of the Taurus 24/7 which has been around for a couple years longer than the Smith and has a reputation as a problem gun too."
I don't know where you got that idea but it is incorrect.
Thanks for the article. I spend 8 or 9 months in Tulsa a few years ago for work and loved the show too. Too bad there are so few good places to shoot in Tulsa.
The XD .45 ACP makes it pretty clear that the GAP has no reason to exist. Yet another round with higher pressure but lesser or equal results from a regular .45 ACP.
Semper Fi
Semper Fi and welcome back. Reminds me that after a year in Beirut I came back to Pendleton and was immediately sent to two months at 29 stumps for back to back Cax exercises in the desert...
A good 124 gr 9mm JHP+P is as good as a .40. Look at the velocity and penetration numbers. .40 is barely, barely bigger than a 9mm. I like both though. If you don't like sanppy recoil don't get a .40.
