Of All of Your Hanguns, Which Is Your Minimal Level of Comfort for SD?

since the question is 'minimally', & not 'optimally', i'll go with my most minimal pistol.. the NAA black widow, in 22lr or 22m. I would rather carry a 22 than nothing, so it would be the 'minimal' carry piece. I'd prefer to have a 38spl, or 9mm, or 357, or 45acp, but the question is...

Pocket carry suggestion -LC9, LCP, Bodyguard or... ?

IMO, the lcr 9mm would be a great complement. Same caliber as you g26, lightweight, easy to carry, & good ergos. Otherwise, why not just carry a g-19 or 17?

Why the hate for the XD?

I've got both, & i like both. I also have others.. some i like better, but i don't 'hate' any of them.

    Caliber info

I've loaded hard cast in light 308 loads, so it would be very versatile. 30-30 can also handle both cast & jacketed. That is the nice thing about reloading.. you can do mild plinking loads, or varmint loads with a bigger caliber. If i could only have one rifle caliber, it would be 308, & i...

Winchester vs Rossi.. Help me choose

I'll agree with several who've given thumb up to rossis. I have several in different calibers, including a newer & older in 357. I like the newer one, better. They are easy to smooth up, but the newer one (cpl yrs old) was fine out of the box. It would need tweaked a bit if i were to use it...

    How Much Recoil Does...

Very stout. I have the lcr in 38spl & a taurus 85. the lcr is a bit lighter & smaller, & with the same ammo you feel the recoil more. But the grip with the gel at the web makes it tolerable.

Out of all of em' 9mm is hard to beat.

good post. I don't have 380 or 40, but plenty of the others. I probably enjoy range shooting 45 & 357/38 the most, but i go through binges of certain calibers. I was on a 45acp binge for a while last year, then got into 45 colt when i picked up the new redhawk 45acp/45colt.

Out of all of em' 9mm is hard to beat.

I have a lot of different calibers, and they all are fun & useful. I agree with the OP about 9mm, though.. it is probably the best all around caliber for SD, CC, plinking, cost, ballistics, bang for the buck, & just about every other parameter. IF someone tells me they want to buy a gun, i...

    Latest Info on SCCY CPX-2

pf-9, which i own, is 7+1, & has been very sketchy in the reliability dept, for me. I never carry mine, because of that. It will fte &/or stovepipe much too often to make it a reliable carry piece. The sccy, OTOH, is 11+1, has been completely reliable.. as much as a glock, beretta, or any...

    Latest Info on SCCY CPX-2

I've put several hundred.. maybe a thousand rounds down mine. It is very reliable & consistent, & fairly accurate. I have several carry pieces, & this has become my favorite, for size, capacity, & dependability. I have used a kahr cm9, keltec pf9, ruger lcr, SA xds, glock 19, & a taurus 85...

S&W Model 10 w/6" barrel. Old school charm

Nice find on a sweet pistol! The old wheel guns are in a bit of a slump, right now, but they'll be back.

Would this be considered Revolver Porn?

here are a few of my revolvers... Love those wheelguns!

Loading .45ACP for the first time.

That'll work fine. The bullet seating die puts a bit of taper crimp on it.

    357 powders

I use unique, promo, & american select for my middle to low power loads, & aa9, w296 (h110), & 4227 for the stout loads. I shoot whatever projectiles are a good deal, lead, plated, coated.. and they all work fine. I've got some 140 tcfp with hitech coating i'm loading now, & they are great...

Loading .45ACP for the first time.

..one of the easiest calibers to load, with lots of options. but for start up, i'd recommend this: 1. get 200 gr plated round nose.. cheap, available, can shoot anywhere, cycles in anything. I've got 3 revolvers, & 6 autos in 45, so i can move a projectile that is fussy in one auto to the...

Do You Have an Excellent Handgun that was Inexpensive?

My 'best deals': 1. Mosin Nagant. I wanted to pick another, but this is just too much 'bang for the buck' in a firearm. A high powered, collectible, historical rifle for $100 (well, used to be). 2. S&W model 10 police trade-in. Under $300 for a quality smith.. and this was earlier this...

    ati Calvary 410

I took mine out today for its first shoot. I ran ~ 30 rounds through it, with the cyl in the under, & IC in the over. I was just patterning it, & seeing how my 410 reloads worked. I did not measure the spread, but watched the pattern as it hit the hill backstop, at different distances. I had a...

    glock 30s carry option

Yes, i did sweat on it a lot! And the lump of hot metal on my back was not particularly pleasant. But neither is a bulky holster, so i'm probably back to a smaller 9mm, instead of the 45. I didn't find it any less comfortable than a leather frontline iwb i have, & it does slip around a bit...

    Opinions asked: Taurus

I have 2 taurus pistols.. both revolvers. They are ok, imo, & you get what you pay for. I will probably 'upgrade' both of them eventually to a ruger or s&w equivalent, but they are good for the price. I already have rugers & s&w's, so i can see the difference. One is the 608.. the 8 round...
