set up Redding 9mm ST die help

Thanks for the suggestions guys.I will clean the die first even thou its new. Redding does say to clean the protective film off before use. I can see a slight crimp on the case so i know there is no bell effect going on. I also heard you can seat and crimp at 2 separate stages for more...

did I mess up buying Redding

I bought the T7 as my first press 2 months ago along with their trimmer, powder measure, scale and dies. So I am certainly no expert on the subject . I have deprimed and resized over 1,000 .223 cases and reloaded over 400 .380 rds at this time. I really like this setup. Service...

    .223 Case OAL

I meant the bullet would seat deeper in the longer case [oops]

    .223 Case OAL

OK,one last question.Maybe I am over thinking this. If I have different length cases and I seat the bullet to a set OAL, some bullets will be deeper in the shorter cases which raises the psi in those compared to the longer cases. Makes me think I should trim to the shortest length case I...

    .223 Case OAL

Sounds good. I had about a dozen I can recover[in the first 100 out of the bag]. I have both cannelure and non cannelure bullets. So when I use the cannelure ones I need to make sure my cases are the same length for crimping, right? Do I...

    .223 Case OAL

I just started to reload .223 for the first time. I am working with once fired brass . According to the Lyman specs , Case length should be at 1.760 after sizing. If this is correct ,how far can I deviate from that? I have some cases that are around 1.737-1.743. Do I toss them? How far the...

    First 380 load- comments

I will keep that in mind. I think the max load was 3.2. How can you tell when you are near max? By the book specs, and or with a Chronograph?

    First 380 load- comments

Finally I got a chance to start reloading. I am using a Redding T7 press with the Redding 88170 die set. Using Winchester 231 powder and Sierra 90 gr. JHP bullets set to .925 OAL. All this to Lymans 49th edition book. I started with their 2.1 grain spec. Loaded and fired 1 round in the...
