    I'll look into that.

    It's finished

Of course. It's set up for range and home right now.

    It's finished

Kyle Defoor says that a modern AR should have a sling, light and red dot. I tried to resist but after trying some I couldn't help but fall for the aimpoint pro. Add that to the vtac sling (awesome) and Surfire g2 (awesomer), and she's done. Camo for the Tacticool and hunting factor (I'll be...

    Iowa gun laws

Are there distance requirements, like so many yards from a home or street?

    Iowa gun laws

I'm looking at a job that would move me to Atlantic Iowa or nearby. I've got a lot of questions but first among them right now, what are the gun laws w regard to hunting and shooting on your own property? Owning acreage in this area is not outside of out means it seems and to be able to shoot...

Manual safetys on semi pistols - yes or no?

I've been thinking a lot on this. Would you want no safety (or manual sear disconnector blocking disengagement mechanism--whatever) in a rifle? Shotgun? Does anyone complain about the safety in their AR or selector in the M16 or AK? And you carry a long gun in a much less intimate way than a...

Concealed Carriers, do you carry spare magazines?

You've got to know that varying an extra mag isn't simply about ammo supply. It's the quickest fix to nearly any malfunction.

    Detail Stripping Glock, Smith M&P9

I do detail my guns. In fact, I took apart a Mossberg 500 trigger group. It's just the way I am. I've always done that sort of thing. I understand things by taking it apart and putting them back together. For me, it hasn't caused any problems. But I can certainly see how it would for some. As...

    bullet set back

I don't sweat it. Commercial ammo is underpowered. Worst I'll do us make my +p jhp's into actual spec over pressured rounds. From the factory +p is a joke in my experience.

    Ar15 feeding problem diagnosis

For some reason I can't post pics. I tried earlier and now I still can't. Something between THR and Tapatalk. Anyway, yes. The wire itself is a thinner gauge. Also, with the old spring I could manually move the extractor. With this new spring I cannot.

Safety features on a Glock 26

I really don't think it's a matter of intelligence. It's simply the fact that some of us seem to have more faith in ourselves, and humanity, than others.

Cycling round too often making it short

Commercial ammunition is so drastically underpowered I don't think it would ever make a difference. It's never made a difference for me. The last time I tested speer gold dot +p it wasn't even at the SAMI spec for standard power.

    Detail Stripping Glock, Smith M&P9

Same reason I used to take the tv and toaster oven apart as a kid? Fun learning. Because I could. And now when I do it, they're aren't parts left over!!

Manual safetys on semi pistols - yes or no?

Yes. Everyone gets stupid. Everyone makes mistakes. If stupid and your gun happen together, a safety can help. Certainly help more than none at all.

Safety features on a Glock 26

This, to me, is the point. It might save you. It might not. But I like slim odds better than no odds (a gun without a manual safety can't 'save you' from stupid at all). The odds of human error are 100%. May not happen with a gun, or a loaded gun. But it will happen. If error and the gun happen...

Until it does. Never say never. That's the nature of malfunctions.

    Ar15 feeding problem diagnosis

The old extractor spring showed excessive wear. Compared to the new spring it was compressed nearly an entire coil short. The bolt has a little over 1000 rounds. The wear on the spring seems excessive for that lifetime. Perhaps it was defective. It had a white insert, if that means anything...
