avoiding ear damage with powerful rifles

I always try to double up regardless of the firearm used. I have severe hearing loss in my right ear from competing years ago with just muffs. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Need Help Choosing a 9mm for Wife

I would bet that the Springfield XDS, 4in barrel, 9mm single stack along with the included full size grip would be just about perfect for her. It really feels like a full size gun but with a very slim grip.

    .38 special recoil question

Either of the 158gr. loads shood be very close to POA and quite mild out of a Model 10. The 638 will have more noticeable recoil but manageable. I would try the 125gr. load first in the 638.

    early christmas present

I have a few DeSantis holsters that get regular use. The thumbreak min-slide is one of my favorites but the scabbards are good too. Leather is the way to go for sure. That's a nice holster you got there and I know you will enjoy using it. A world of difference compared to nylon.

    A happy problem

I like the 19 and 23 size Glocks. They feel different in the hand to me and I shoot them well. You only lose two rounds, 15+1 and 13+1 for the 19 and 23. To me, a person used to carrying revolvers, that's plenty of firepower. I'd say try the 17 and see if you shoot it as well. I think the 19 is...

I don't often recommend factory ammo, but...

Thanks for the report. I'm going the try these in my S&W 65 4in. barrel carry gun. The numbers you got are reminiscent of the old 357's, but with less recoil and flash. I'll adopt this round if I get similar results in my S&W.

Ruger is expanding the LCR family

I like it! I think the 3in. barrel makes it a more useful gun. The light weight would also make it unnoticeable too carry. A great overall package. A gun like this for me is more of a tool, so looks mean little.

Do you carry a Subcomcact, Compact, or Full size Gun

My preferred carry is a 4in, K frame in 357mag. I've downsized from an N frame but still carry one occasionally. When I carry a semi-auto, it's usually a Sig 2022 in 9mm. I like a substantial gun that fills my hand so I prefer a full size or at least something close. Smaller guns are fine if you...

    conceal carry a 4 inch??

You can carry that 4in. revolver very comfortably and concealed easily with a sturdy gun belt and IWB or OWB sturdy holster with a large sweatshirt or light jacket. An option that I often use is a Safariland 101 leather shoulder holster for a 4in. K frame. Very comfortable and concealable with...

    My first S&W

I love my Model 10-6. They are great revolvers and will carry just fine with a good gun belt and sturdy holster. The 4in. Model 10 really is a great all purpose revolver.

What does the Sig 2022 do well?

My wife has a Sig 2022 in 9mm and loves it. I shot it at the range and found it to be accurate, reliable and fun to shoot. It`s definitely a quality gun with the same feel as my Sig 226 and 220. I`m not a 9mm fan but used that caliber for competition. I liked it enough that I bought one for...

Which carry gun? Bersa, Shield, Glock

    I prefer to carry a revolver, lately that's been a S&W K Frame 357mag, Model 65. If I do carry a pistol, I prefer a substantial caliber. A Glock 27 or 23 are two of my favorites.

Searching for a new carry gun

You might want to take a look at the S&W M&P 9c and 40c, 12+1 or 10+1 with the 40. Most do not have thumb safeties. These guns seem highly regarded by a lot of people.
