Ed Brown Custom 1911 Raffle for Kids w/ Terminal Brain Conditions

I would have donated sooner and spread the word, but I was slightly late to the show due to a trip somewhere with a lot of sand. I bought my tickets, and told everyone who would listen long enough. Hopefully you get lots of those last minute entries!

    Bolt-action Tokarev carbine?

Wiselite Arms can build you a semi-auto Sterling carbine in 7.62x25mm. I have one, and it converts back to 9mm with a barrel swap. Feeds from slightly modified sten mags for the 7.62x25mm. http://www.wlarms.com/

    AR15 Optics Question

Well, lets see what we can eliminate as a possible cause of the problem. Did your scope come with any specific instructions on zeroing? What barrel length and twist rate do you have? What brand ammo and what bullet weight? What kind of mounts are you using for the scope? Does the rifle have...

    Border Patrol

Last I was aware of they were issued the Beretta 96D in .40S&W. A bunch of the Border Patrol fellows I saw a few days ago still had the 96Ds. I'm not aware of them switching to an H&K. I'm afraid I don't know what loading they use, never thought to ask.

    My MSAR STG-556 experience

I felt the need to relate this, mostly because I like sharing whenever I get treated well by a company. I recently purchased an STG-556 through a local FFL, I was pretty excited, and had never owned a bullpup configured rifle. Fit and finish looked excellent, and I was pretty happy with my...

    Sterling pistol/ rifle

The correct way to hold a sterling is with your support hand around the barrel shroud. Holding by the magazine is an excellent way to induce feed issues. As for the pistol, a magazine is not a forward grip according to the ATF. Plenty of guns have been made with magazine wells forward of the...

    Rossi 38 Snubbie. Opinions

"even back in the CP/M days of computing. " I think you just dated yourself! I've always kind of wondered if any programmer got sneaky and wrote ballistics software for his new hunting loads for the machines like the PDP-8. But I'm off subject.

Antique M16s still on active duty!

Active duty USAF here. I qualified expert in basic with an A2 converted M-16A1. Serviceable is a funny word. My rifle, along with many others did fire, however I pretty much shot the course with a bolt action M-16A2. Nearly all of them were pretty worn and ratty.

    S&W Model 22-4 Thunder Ranch 45 ACP

I bought my 22-4 Thunder Ranch new a few months ago. I believe I paid $679. I'd certainly want a little cash or some other perks on that deal.

    Help me ID these guns

Dear Wendy is one of the worst movies in the history of transferring garbage to film. A comment on Rotten Tomatoes summed it up pretty well: "The film has the unmistakable imprint of [Lars] von Trier, with its heavy-handed tirade, masquerading as satire, assailing what he perceives to be...

    Browing Hi-Power Carry Pistol

My regular carry is a Charles Daly Hi-power clone. Really well made gun for the price, and like all Hi-powers, very thin, easy shooting, and with Mec-Gar flush fit 15 round magazines packs a decent punch. The XS Big dot sights are pretty neat too.

    Davis Ind. derringer question?

The Davis guns are now made by http://www.cobraderringers.com/ I assume by .38 you mean .38 Special. No, you cannot fire 9mm out of it. As with any gun, you should only fire ammo the gun is marked for. Given you could get a 9mm round to fire in it, it would very likely do horrific damage to...

    Check this out... Snipers?

If you use the zoom function on the dome of the whitehouse itself, very upper level balcony. The image is extremely high resolution and I can clearly see several men in black uniforms, with a tripod mounted laser spotting scope. No rifles visible though. Looks like it was taken using multiple...

    Intratec CAT-9 or Hi-Point C9

The Hi-point is a better firearm. All the Hi-points I have fired have worked well, were accurate, and you can't beat the warantee. They are rough around the edges, and ugly as sin, but they seem to work well. I bought my own C9 on a whim and tried to get it to malfunction. Not exactly a...

    wow, Designated Marksman in action

I'm a zoomie here. Gotta respect a Marine and his or her ability to make America's enemies wish they had not gotten up in the morning. Good shooting!

    Gunshops in OKC

Just PCSed to Tinker AFB, and I'm wondering if any locals could point me to some decent gunshops in the area. So far I've been to Gun World, which seems to be an outright ripoff, and H&H which seemed ok, not great but ok. So far I like this state, just not too big on the wind!

Don't clear your home, but what about false alarms

I've never really considered -not- clearing my own house, or at least going through and making sure the noise I heard was not just something settling in the attic, or an animal outside. I suppose just staying in your bedroom, phone and gun in hand works well enough, but it does bring up another...

    Taurus Model 66 .357 Magnum

I have one, exact same model pictured actually. Mine has been fantastic, it's eaten lots and lots of various brands of .357 Mags and .38s. Never a bobble out of mine. Pretty accurate, I put it right up there with my S&Ws honestly.
