    Colt 1860 3rd Signature Army

You should look on gun broker.com. There is usually one there for sale. Sometimes with the accessories. I would think it should bring around $700 to $800. You never know though. Good luck.

after 32 years I have new gun fever again

Gun collecting and shooting is a sickness that we love and want no cure for. I know exactly how you feel. I have more than I need but have a hard time parting with any of them. BP shooting has become my favorite with my Ruger Old Army. As far as collecting, the 2nd generation Colts that come...

    Uberti or Cimarron 58 Remington

Great info. I was looking to see if one or the other had LESS STAMPINGS in obvious places like the side of the barrel or frame. I've read here that everyone likes Taylors so I'll probably buy from them. My ROA is so much fun to shoot I need another BP revolver. I've got an 1851 Colt 2nd...

    Uberti or Cimarron 58 Remington

I am thinking of getting an 1858 Remington. I am told the Uberti has slightly better quality than the Pietta. What I would like to know is how does the Cimarron compare with the Uberti? I am looking at Taylors for the Uberti and Texas Jacks for the Cimarron.

All good replies. I believe I'll have one in the near future. I'm leaning toward the Uberti. Oh, and thanks for the where to buy one info. This is a great site.

    Do I want a Remington?

I just came back from Cabellas and they had a few Pietta Remingtons in the case. My only problem is that the quality does not seem to be top shelf. Specifically the grips did not fit the frame to well. You could see through a gap between the grip and the frame. The barrel cyl. gap and end...

Walker Colt vs Ruger Old Army

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the Colt Walker was the "most powerful" handgun until the 357 magnum came out. If so is it more powerful than the Ruger Old Army? Has anyone done a test to find out which one has the most "umph"? Just curious.

What size screwdriver for Pietta Remington '58 hand screw?

I just bought a screwdriver kit with a Winchester brand name on it for $22.00 on e-bay. Supposed to be hollow ground. I hope it's worth having. I think there are 4 more available.

    My Loading Stand

Ever since I saw some of the loading stands for our pistols I've wanted to make one. I finally got around to it. It is not as nice as some I've seen but it's not to shabby.

    No Caps Available!!

I found a place in New Hampshire (near a relative who lives close by) that has them. I'll see if he can get me some. Thanks for the links. I may try them in the future.

    # 10 or #11 Cap in Your ROA?

Which size cap do you use in your Ruger Old Army? The nipples are the original ones that came with the gun. I had some German caps (No. 1075 PLUS) that I don't know the size of and they are gone. The Ruger manual says #10 or 11. So which one???

    No Caps Available!!

I've called around to the gun shops in my area and NOBODY has any percussion caps! :what: So what do I do now? :cuss: How is your supply? Can you get them? I need them for my ROA and use #11's.

Keep the Ruger or the Colt?

A while ago I almost got a Remington in stainless for $200, but I missed it by a few days. Kind of bummed me out. Now you got me going. I guess I'll keep an eye out for one.

Keep the Ruger or the Colt?

CraigC you're right! I do have two hands! One for each. Why didn't I think of that? Deep down I knew it all along. I've just got to keep them both. I guess I just needed a bit of reinforcement. A momentary laps of judgement on my part. It won't happen again. Thanks all for your input.

Keep the Ruger or the Colt?

I've got 2 B/P pistols and I really don't need them both. :what: One is a SS Ruger Old Army that I've shot and the other is a 2nd generation 1851 Colt Navy that has never been fired. I like shooting the Ruger but I think I'd like shooting the Colt too. :uhoh: They are both worth about the...
