# 10 or #11 Cap in Your ROA?

Which size cap do you use in your Ruger Old Army? The nipples are the original ones that came with the gun. I had some German caps (No. 1075 PLUS) that I don't know the size of and they are gone. The Ruger manual says #10 or 11. So which one???

I use #11 both CCI and Remington without problems. I also use RWS 1075s.

Try Rem #10's or CCI #11 standards.

Remington # 10s work. They're all I use on my 2 ROAs.

I always used Rem #10s for mine. They worked flawlessly with Ampco nipples. CCI #11 were small and difficult to seat.

I played with one in the early 2000s. I tried #10s, but I was unable to seat them on the nipples with just my fingers. When the hammer struck them the first time they would not fire. After a trip around the cylinder the first hammer blow seated them and the second attempt fired them. I got #11s for it and had no problems.

I finally got some of the ones I used before. No. 1075 Plus, also one pac of CCI #11s that I've never tried before. Hope to try them out this week after work.
