Hmmm.... lots' of Sig 220 threads

I agree with the point of your post, but don't sell the P220 short. Mine will shoot 2" at 25 yards with Federal ball. Range sessions are much more enjoyable once your able to make those ragged little holes consistantly. With that said, I agree completely with your utilitarian "my gun is a...

    At the range-how cold

I have certainly found the cold has an effect on handgun reloads. I shoot reloads thru my Sig P220 all summer with no problem. When it gets down to about 35 degrees I start having cycling problems. While this could be a result of lubrication thickening, I have found that for winter shooting I...

    Mouse guns

To each his own. I have a Seacamp .32 and love it. I also have a PPK .380 that I love. Both are reliable and easily concealed. Just a matter of personal preference on what you like/feel comfortable with.

    Commander replacement barrel????

I installed a Bar-sto semi drop-in and it was easy. Just need to go slow and follow the supplied directions. Very accurate with a match bushing.

    First squib

Congratulations on your good luck! Had the bullet lodged fully in the barrel you might be typing left handed. Was there powder in the case or just the .22 brass? I would certainly make the cartridge company that loaded it aware of their lack of quality control. I would not hold back at all...

    I May Have Blown It

Just out of curiosity, how are you going to deprime those cases if the primers are still active? Sounds a little risky to me.

1911 Frame: Bare or Cheap gun?

I would buy an inexpensive stripped frame and then add the specific parts to it from there to get it the way you want it. It is not expensive and it gives you great experience with 1911s. You may even decide to get a .45 slide/barrel later on if you like the "custom" trigger pull. To buy a...

    AR Uppers and lowers?

If this is going to be a SHTF or fun blasting rifle then be sure to get a chrome-lined barrel. It will last for thousands of rounds and will be a bit easier to clean. If you are more into tack driving and don't mind religously cleaning then one of the stainless match barrels or carbon steel...

    Seacamp or Smith/Walther ppk/s

I was at Four Seasons today and saw that they had a PPK as well as the PPK/s. What is the difference other then the PPK is a smaller grip? Keltecs are not legal in Ma. unless they were produced before '98. Ditto the Kahrs. Ma. sucks plain and simple.

Sig 225 for single stack, Sig 228/229 for double stack. Best there is, period.

    A Pair of .357s (with a .22 thrown in)

I really like the grip on the Smith. Is it a Hogue?

    Old Stevens Favorite

Hi folks, I have been given an old Stevens Favorite (at least that is what it looks like, not sure). It is marked "44rf shot" on the barrel and is in about 50% shape although everything still is functional. Does anyone have an idea about this rifle/shotgun or cartridge?

looking for another 22 - this time, something lightweight.

I also like the Golden Boy lever action. It is alot of fun and plenty accurate out to about 50 yards for can plinking. Plus you just don't see very many of them on the range.

    New Ar needs some goodies!

If you are dead set on the IOR scope then I would suggest backup iron sights (if the ar is a flat top) and a sling. Personally, I own/built 4 ARs and I have a Leupold on the 20" flat top and an Aimpoint on the M-4 with backup sights. The other 2 have only their iron sights. The more I shoot...

Best handgun SHTF caliber and weight

I would vote for the Sig 229 in .357sig based on ballistics but only if there was a vast amount of ammo available (stockpiled for shtf). However, it would also be a truly defensive weapon in case the AR/M4 and the 12 gauge went down or ran out of ammo.

    First gun

My handgun research always starts with the caliber. .380, .40, 9mm, .45? I would consider the 9mm as a first handgun because ammo is cheap, pistols are abundant in all different makes and models and sizes. That being said, my first handgun was a Sig p220 in .45. I still have it and it is...

S&W Semi-automatics- how do they compare?

Smith and Wesson 1911's are the best value around for a 1911 in 45. The ergonomics of the SW99 are very nice. Smith M41 is the best target auto domestically produced (including Ruger). All the other Smith autos never seemed to fit my hand right. I just couldn't get a comfortable grip on...
