    Big-Bore Wheel Gun

If I had to put a guess I'd say the S&W 500 ammo is more of a "specialty" round. When you reload the price becomes much closer in costs to one another.

Just out of curiosity did you get that from Buds? I just ordered a Model 10 from them, should be here Thursday.

"What Gun Were You The Most Disappointed With?" Redux

Glock 33. I just could not get comfortable with it. Traded it for a security six and haven't looked back.

    Ruger 44mag

+1 I'm really happy with the Bisley frame but can't I compare it with the original as I never shot one.

Ruger Security Six I traded a glock for this with a co-worker. I put a new Hogue grip on it and gave it some TLC. I love it.

Autos don't really do it for me anymore...

I started with a few autos. I just got rid of my last Glock that got traded for a security six. I just got tired of chasing my brass and I have never shot those as well as my wheel guns. The only auto I haven't own but is on my list is a 1911.

    Ruger Super Blackhawk

Like others have said it doable with practice. I use 23g of H110 with 240 Keith bullets. We were just shooting a 10" gong at 100 yards today with open sights. Once I knew where they were missing a small adjustment is all it took to start hitting it.

    .44 Special Leading

So just a little update. I have loaded 5 rounds in .1 grains from 6.5 to 7.5. I'm still getting leading and accuracy has been declining. I don't know what the maximum charge is for a 44 spaecial as all my manuals only go up to 6.9g. I may just load a few in a mag case with 10 grains of unique to...

    .44 Special Leading

Awesome. Gives me hope. I'm working up some loads to do more testing.

    .44 Special Leading

This is basically what I was thinking. Is this a common problem when using specials in a magnum cylinder? If not then I would like to keep working on this so I don't get the full house rounds mixed up with the powder puff rounds.

    .44 Special Leading

Throats and bore was slugged. Throats were .431 and bore was .429 if memory serves me right. The Cowboy #3 is a 12 BHN. FWIW I've been using Brads 240 Keith 18 BHN in my magnum loads with H110 with great success. Absolutely no leading with that load.

    .44 Special Leading

So I've been having a slight leading problem with my .44 special loads in my Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter. I am using Missouri Bullets Cowboy #3 with Unique in .44 Special Starline brass with CCI 300 primers. I've started my loads at 5.7 grains and worked up to 6.5 grains. I'm getting some...

    First Squib Ever

I can't speak for everyone but I understand the severity in squibs. I am thankful that I knew there was a problem right off the bat on that round and immediately checked it. Then again in my instance I was shooting Magnum loads.

    First Squib Ever

I just had my first one too. I believe mine had no powder. I thought it was a hang fire.

    Thank you for the explanation.

Shooting .44 spl in .44 magnum

Does the accuracy go down by having the bullet seating deeper in the chamber?

    Who's doing some loading tonight?

Just made some .308 with Varget and 168 Sierra OTM and going to start on some .44 mag with h110 and 240 swc.

44 Mag Using H110 and Cast

Thanks. I keep a list on my phone so when I go looking around for supplies I have a reference. With that being said I have never saw that brand at any of the stores around here. Usually only alliant, hodgon and IMR.
