New Gunsite has worn finish on rear sight

Thanks for the responses. Yes, it's brand new. I called S&W and they are shipping me a replacement sight free of charge.

New Gunsite has worn finish on rear sight

I just picked up a S&W Gunsite 1911 - great looking piece. However, on the left side of the rear sight the black finish is worn away. I'm assuming it's due to some difficulty getting the sight installed? I'd like to know if there is any cause for concern regarding rusting or anything. I...

    Smith & Wesson M&P9c (M&P 9mm Compact) photos

Nicely done pics. I just picked up a M&P 9c with the factory Trijicons for $520 NIB :D I also got a free S&W range bag. Haven't fired it yet, but the M&P feels great and conceals well.

    Baby Eagle Feeding Problems

I have the red followers. I just ordered some new recoil springs from MagRes, so I'll cross my fingers and hope they do the trick. Thanks for the replies!

    Baby Eagle Feeding Problems

The feedramp seems pretty smooth to me. I've tried Speer Lawman, CCI Blazer, and WWB. I was thinking recoil spring, but I don't think anyone makes aftermarket accessories for the Baby Eagle, at least that I can find. I was looking at it last night, and it looks like when the hammer gets...

    Baby Eagle Feeding Problems

...and I'm not talking about the flying kind :p I just got a new (to me) Baby Eagle Compact Polymer .40. The previous owner said it only had 25 rds through it, and I think I found out why he was so eager to sell it. I'm having trouble feeding rounds from the mag. When I pull the slide...

Opinions on .40 Compact Polymer Baby Eagle

"Now (all disclaimers aside) my WAG (wild a?? guess) would be that the recoil is probably pretty close." I was afraid of that. Sounds like the 9mm might be the better choice for me. Thanks for your $.02.

Opinions on .40 Compact Polymer Baby Eagle

It does help, thanks for the link. I also found George's posting on THR: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=98653 After some thought, I think I might go for the 9mm, I'm not sure I'm ready for another gun to buy .40 cal ammo for :D

Opinions on .40 Compact Polymer Baby Eagle

Sounds like not many Baby Eagle owners out there, so I'll ask this question instead. Can the recoil of the G23 be expected of any .40 polymer compact?

Opinions on .40 Compact Polymer Baby Eagle

I own a fullsize steel Baby Eagle in .40 and I love the thing. I'd like to get the compact polymer in .40, but there are no in-town ranges where I can hold one or rent one to shoot. I rented a Glock 23 today for a size comparison and man does it bark, compared to the fullsize B.E. I expected...

    Central Ohio gunshow question

Think I'll pass on taking her. She does like firearms (we're taking a CCW course together in a few weeks) and bought herself a Taurus PT111, but she's not a fan of crowds or confined spaces. Just that right there would make the experience downright miserable for her. Thanks for the heads-up!

    Central Ohio gunshow question

Anyone know what type of crowd to expect at the Westland shows? I want to take my girlfriend, but she's leery of the west side - not the nicest area of Columbus. Neither of us have been to a gunshow before; I wouldn't want to take her with me if the patrons are mostly rude/hostile/militant...
