    Revolvers VS. Semi autos

I like both, but if I could only have my Smith 65 or SA 1911, I'm taking the 1911. If I am going to be out in crap weather, I will take the Smith, as it is stainless.

    para big hawg?

SA Makes HiCap 1911s. Mine has been everywhere, and has served well. Don't go cheap on mags. HiCaps are VERY intolerant of crappy mags.

The Big Heller Decision Discussion Thread - AFFIRMED 2ND AS INDIVIDUAL RIGHT

This is most excellent. I was flying when it came down, I had the squadron duty officer call on the radio. Victory roll!

    Worst Weapon?

The V-22 is no worse off than a H-60 if the HYD goes out.. You lose HYD in a 60, you die. Period. Same for -53, -47, and -46s. And I have seen V-22s do some wicked stuff. You guys jump on the V-22, but it is villified by the media. Half the reason it has taken so damn long is that its...

    To GLOCK CCWers

IMO, the glocks are no different than a revolver in the "Dangers" of carry. I carry Revo's and 1911s myself. Don't own glocks. Not a fan of the grip angle.

    Unrestricted LTC in Massachusetts

My father often picks up $30K+ in checks, and transports same (street value) amount of non traceable, easily disposed of product (gasoline and diesel).. When he lived in MA, getting a LTC was easy due to the town they lived in. Now that he moved to NH, he is having issued getting a Non-Resident...

    banning of Vets with PTSD

Yep. My dad, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather have seen stuff that would blow my mind, and not in a good way. They all have the image of Naval Aviation being a bunch of A4 and A6's going "downtown" in Nam. Endless SSC off a CG in a 60B is not quite the same. Back on topic, the way...

Do NOT attempt to steal from this man!

Man defending his property and livelihood. Nothing wrong about that. What is right, is that while a grand jury will hear it, is that he has NOT been arrested or otherwise inconvenienced for adding some chlorine to the gene pool.

    banning of Vets with PTSD

This is exactly why my dad WON'T go to the VA for anything. Had a bud that lost his livelihood over seeking help for recurrent nightmares. birdbustr, AD Navy LT as well. 1310 type.

Wesley Clark on the Man Cow Show...wow

I have seen many "warrior" types get pushed out because they were not good at paper pushing. The USMC seems to have less of this, (USN here). Never worked with the Army enough to see if that is the case there, but advancement by paperwork is too common in the USN and USAF. I have seen many...

Should off duty cops be subject to the same gun laws as the rest of us?

I can chime in on the Mil officer side of things. I am "on duty 24/7" and subject to UCMJ at all time, in addition to ALL civilian laws. I have done counter-narcotic missions in the past that made many in my unit not too popular with the drug cartels. I live NEAR the border. I cannot CCW...

Taco Cabana -- San Antonio, TX -- No Guns Sign

For what it is worth, the Taco Cabana in Corpus Christi has a 30.06 sign, but I don't think its "big enough" but I am not going to test it. I can't have guns where I live (on NAS Kingsville) so CCW has become a massive PITA for me as of late.

    Armed airline pilots

Kelly, you wont' boil your blood. I've done explosive decompression at 36K, which is MUCH more violent than just hitting the cabin dump/outflow valves. Blodd did not boil. I did let out one helluva fart though, along with the rest on the chamber ride. Are there risks? Yep. Probably a lot...

    Armed airline pilots

Easy solution. Have the Air Marshall with a portable O2 mask. Depressurize the cabin. Nite-Nite to the Goblins. TUC (Time of Useful Consciousness is about 30-45 Seconds at FL360) FL360 = 36,000 feet, which is around where most airlines cruise. Dump pressurization, cabin goes...

Had my 2nd Amendment Rights suspended today.

While I can see offense to line 2 and 3 in your quote, I can see line one being a viable and prudent thing to do, especially while you are still getting to know a person. Also, after being 100% faithful and committed to that woman, and the hell I have gone through, and the relative standard of...

Had my 2nd Amendment Rights suspended today.

As to how to make sure this does not happen again, I have no good ideas. The courts would rather issue 100 bogus DV RO's than let one that should have been issued slip through. And from what I have seen, the judges don't really care how that affects or destroys men's lives. Overturning...
