Does anyone carry a SIG Sauer DA/SA pistol? Post here! (EDC thread)

I'm actually craving a .357SIG pistol as well.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if they aren't good ones. :P

Ha. So the good ol' DA / SA isn't that phased out yet.

Does anyone carry a SIG Sauer DA/SA pistol? Post here! (EDC thread)

I want to get a SIG Sauer thread going. I'm aware that SIG Sauer has a striker fired pistol, the P320. It too is a great gun. Just curious to see how many people on here stick to their hammer fired SIGs. Nothing else feels as great to me. Although, Heckler and Koch is a nice tie / 2nd place...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

Hookeye, I would have to buy a gun today to make sure it's here before the 7th and test it to make sure it works in that time frame. Not to mention, I'm not looking to buy a new gun.

    Nightstand Duty Dilemma

The .45ACP will make your ears bleed a little less than 9mm. ----- Winner .45ACP The .45ACP has less bullets than the 9mm. Multiple threats, non-incapacitating shots, missed shots, barriers, etc. So more bullets = better, ----- Winner 9mm The 9mm and .45ACP with modern hollow point bullet...

is it true, or just myth?

This is weird... I don't think any gun can take that. If I'm understanding correctly. You mean the round goes off but does not leave the barrel at all? I'm sorry. The gun would blow up in your hands. It's meant to fire the bullet out of the barrel and cycle accordingly. A lot of the pressure is...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

I wouldn't say I'm inexperienced or over-thinking it per-say... What's making me ask, if you read my original post, was that we were charged once and in that particular scenario I fired 4 rounds into the hog's head before he stopped. Just different experiences. Nothing novice about that...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

All copper is what I have in 115gr for 9mm and 185gr for .45ACP. "Mouse Fart" bullets are the ones that I have seen in 50gr. I had the names mixed up. It's not Lehigh Defense I had in mind, it was "Liberty Defense" with the mouse fart bullets...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

Thank you, but it wasn't that far away. Maybe 7 feet away and closing in while I was stepping back. Oh, okay. Sorry I misread what you intended. Yup! My S&W 360PD is going to be loaded with Snake Shot and carried appendix. Since those rounds don't cycle too well in semi-autos. Haha...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

It was a big boar. lol.. I mean, maybe the tone was harsh but it's not completely wrong either. More like, they actual defend themselves aggressively and we can't blame them for it. It doesn't take a lot for them to be threatened either. So maybe that's where the misconception is. That...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

Sure. Turn a $150 trip into a $900 one. Haha. No, no....Pass. I saw that, sorry. I actually have tose rounds sitting at home! May consider those now. The man who's running this is saying to stagger between FMJ and JHP? Heard of that before? Pretty sure it's open land but private...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

Guys.... I'm asking for the best bullet in .45ACP for my needs. The knife, sword, lightsaber, suppressed .22lr, and point the rifle at it instead are not what I'm asking. Those suggestions are coming with a scenario that isn't there. I'm talking about worst case scenario, where I've been...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

That is correct! Hence why it's much easier to pull a sidearm than to swing around a bolt of lever action rifle. Going to be with the USP and 1 spare mag. Both are 12 rounders. Someone messaged me saying that the Corbon hasn't worked well for him? I find that very hard to believe. At...

Wild boar in Florida: Sidearm in .45ACP + Ammo

Hello everyone. Every time I've gone hunting in the past, I've used a SIG P220 and ball ammo staggered with Federal JHPs as my sidearm / dispatch gun. No issue with that. For dispatching. The last time I went out, we got charged by a hog and I drew while stepping back firing 5-6 rounds of...

    Glock, the awakening...

So.. It's been about a decade. I have always invested emotion into my guns. Purchases, which is fine. Range days, which is fine. Concealed carry, which isn't wise. Why? Well.. It's simple. I've asked and spoke to several friends of mine after having this "revelation" and they all agreed...

    carry pistol

It's really hard to beat a Glock. A 19, 26, or 43 will serve you well for concealed carry. The Smith and Wesson Shield is also an amazing little firearm that's hard to beat. I think I'd personally (if I was you) get myself a more modern pistol design and put an ample amount of rounds...

Why i HATE conceiled carry and what can i do to fix it?

Cobra, I was going to wholeheartedly give you advice on concealed carry methods. I have carried in places I was not allowed to carry for over 10 years. Now, however.. I simply cannot condone it. You're attempting to carry a firearm illegally with a possibly illegal handgun. I cannot morally be a...
