California Law Changes July 1 - Affects FFL Xfers

Its not an analogy. You're talking about dealers using an anti-gun law for their monetary gain, and I gave you a direct example otherwise. CA firearms dealers just operate within the laws they have. And they WERE opposed to the new law, we opposed it every time it came up. Just the...

California Law Changes July 1 - Affects FFL Xfers

Many CA dealers are perfectly willing to skirt the edges of the law by selling us off-list 'assault weapons' with pinned magazines. So much for them "using 'anti' laws for their monetary gain."

So what would happen if another assault weapon ban was enacted?

Yes, there would. Congress can't pass an ex post facto law. If they did, it could be overturned on that basis. As for the rest of it, well, wait until Heller is published.

Silly myths you have had to fight with

My wife forced our first handgun purchase because SHE wanted the nice simple revolver and didn't want to deal with autoloader controls in the middle of the night. Then why do blanks have recoil?

Both actually makes sense. Mandarin's rings aren't magic, they are technology from an alien race that looks like big frikken dragons. Fin Fang Foom is a representative of that race. (This is why Mandarin, the guy with 'magic rings', has always been an Iron Man villain...) They don't actually...

    Guns of Iron Man

Ok, as an aside, making firing prop guns, especially assault rifles (full auto) is becoming a lost art. Alot of the old companies that were known for this are GONE- pushed out of business by the sate of CA, and/or southern CA cities. (hence why several famous prop firearms are now in private...

    Digital Camera questions

Oh, yeah, next bit: buy a tripod. Spend more than $50 on it. Putting a $1000 camera on a $30 tripod is the direct equivalent of putting a $30 scope on a $1000 rifle- it'll work, but you could do better, and it may flake out at a critical moment. Just remember, a tripod flaking out usually...

    Digital Camera questions

Okay, if you're going to use a direct flash, put diffusion paper on it, as much as you can If you have a DSLR-type with a flash, aim the flash away and bounce it back onto the firearm to be photographed with a 'bounce card'. The cheapest 'bounce card' is a sheet of foamcore from an art store.

    Guns of Iron Man

My guess would be, once he finds the other rings, that Bald Bad Guy is the Mandarin... or maybe he is just a Hand of the Mandarin. and yes, the body plates of the armor are supposed to be reinforced with a 'repulsor field'. And yes, no tank would have the traverse to hit him flying at that...

Question for the people of New York and California

And according to CA state law, a CCW issued in one county is valid statewide. No matter what the sheriff tells you, you look at state law and see if it says he can make restrictions like that. CA has a preemption statute for gun laws.
