tactical times
I've noticed this alot as well. I chalk it up to the times. Remember the late 80's and most of the 90's? The term "MILSPEC" was all the rage back then, now it's tactical.
Don't get me wrong, 'tactical' sells...you can't tell me it's not a marketing ploy to some extent, but...
I have backpacked/hiked many of miles with a revolver and consider it vital to safe travels. You just can't be to safe out in those boonies.
I've backpacked the Thoroughfare Trail trail in Yellowstone a few times. The last time my friend and I were on the return trip back to the trailhead...
I have the 425 Tracker in .41 mag. Used primarily for field usage during hikes with the dogs, camping and hunting.
Pros:
Lightweight titanium frame that supposedly WILL NOT rust, good for field carry
Ported barrel for the stout, but controllable .41 mag
Decently priced
I happen to like...
The old man hunted with a beat up old Remington 1148 recoil operated shotty for years till he picked up an Ithica 37 pump with the deer slayer. Had a Blackhawk .22 and an old Winchester .243 for the groundhogs after hay season. He never really looked at firearms other than that they were tools...
I have the Taurus 425 in .41 mag (4 inch) for my primary field carry, but I cannot find many holster makers that sew for this model. So my next bet is to get a similar frame sized holster that will fit decently.
Would the K or L frame lines in Smith&Wesson reliably cover this option?
