Look at the Ultradot brands. I use the Gen 2 Ultradot match dot. The dot is adjustable for 2 4 6 8 MOA. I know you mentioned smaller than 2, but the multiple brightness settings makes the 2 MOA dot look very small. I use them on my bullseye pistols.
Do an ebay search for "range box", "Pachmayr box", you'll see prices from 85$ to $400. All types new and old. There are several newer metal Hyscore brand boxes as well.
Sorry, I just realized I had a picture challenge. Here is my old Pachmayr box. Since its an old box it's not set up for handgun optics. I have to put those in at an angle.
Can't go wrong with any of the S&Ws. Here is an inexpensive, well made, .22 of mine. Made by Unique (France) for JC Higgins, model 85. It's all steel construction and has adjustable sights.
I had one of the early ones in the 1990s and let it get away from me. I have a newer model, bought a couple of years ago. It's all black factory Cerakote. Great shooter and draws alot of attention at the range. I would like to have one in .45 auto also.
Great looking box, seems to be well built. I may, or may not, be considered an old timer. I recently spiffed up my Pachmayr bullseye box. It still has all of the original vinyl covering.
My 41 is mid 1990s model. S&W was using Millet sights back then on the 41s. While searching look for Millets on ebay, etc. I dont know if it will work on older guns, but I'm trying to help you with options. Here is a pic of my rear sight.
I don't own a 9mm revolver, but i like 9mms and revolvers. I've only seen it on TV, but I would like to have Ruger Competition GP100 9mm. It would be a great range gun.
