    Acetylene Welding

I just have to ask, how do air frames that are welded 4130 tubing get their welds post heated? I know for a fact it gets done with a gas torch and we are talking about air frames. If you want a very good example of this from an authoritative source read page 833 of ASM Metal Handbook #6 on...

    Acetylene Welding

Assuming that the barrel is made out of 41xx alloy: No flux is needed or wanted. The only time you'll use flux on 41xx is as a backup flux on a but joint, and if you weld the backside clean off all the flux before you weld it. If you choose a 41xx filler material you will have to anneal...

    Recommend a swagging press

The big question is how long are you willing to wait? There is a thread over at saubier's bullet making forum about Richard's lead time.

Lee Classic Cast vs Redding Big Boss II?

The classic cast is a good press and I'm not much of a LEE fanboi. It's about as strong of a press as you could expect with the exception of the POS lever that it ships with, it's a steel pipe with a wooden ball glued to it and it does not live up to the rest of the press. LEE's own...

    A challenge to lee precision.

Uncle Don if you want to use a bushing style neck sizing die you need to turn the necks to get them concentric before you neck size them. If you don't want to do this kind of prep and want pretty good results the collet sizing dies work well.

A good Bullet Puller for Reloading Press?

all the non-kinetic types that I know of only work on rifle bullets, I don't think your going to find anything for the 45ACP, there isn't enough bearing area to get ahold of pistol bullets. RCBS and forster make collet style bullet pullers. Corbin makes a pliers like pullet puller.

    Ar-15 Loading Question

That should read roll crimp requires a cannelure, a tapper crimp does not. Two companies make tapper crimp dies for 223, Dillon and Redding.

    Dies for reloading for AR15

I tend to agree with the statement it will help some but it may not be worth it. If you don't mind 2 steps in sizing you could use a Redding base sizing die to bump the shoulder and a Lee collet sizing die to set neck tension. As long as you get a good die the collet design is pretty good at...

    Dies for reloading for AR15

Redding sells what they call a body die which resizes the case and bumps the shoulder but doesn't touch the neck, so you would need a neck sizing die to set neck tension after using the body die. One note on bushing style neck sizing dies, for best results you will want to turn the necks to...

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

I think your sunk on the LNL if he's going to borrow it, better get something quick! Naw the index detent spring mod has nothing to do with the powder measure itself, all it does is reduce the pressure the detent has on the shellplate and when it stops indexing it doesn't snap into place as...

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

No I don't watch LOG SAWIN!!!! OMG that cracks me up! Now if your asking cause you really want to know about the 650 I'll tell you what I know. Can I operate the press for an hour non stop, yes but only after I got the roller handle, when I had the ball my palm would start to cramp after...

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

Good deal on helping him out, I really do hope YellowLab get's his press running with the small primers. Your a hoot on the video challenge. If I were to take the video challenge it would be a race to a 1000 not a burst contest, but man that would be the most boring videos ever. I don't...

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

Now come on the first generation Lock-n-load press was just a projector with the lock-n-load bushings, around '03 Hornady revised the primer system, changed the shell plates yadda yadda. So how is it faster to individually change each die with the lock-n-load bushings verses change 1...

Dave can I ask you a few things about your Hornady press without offending you too terribly? You say it's faster to do caliber conversions, can you expand on how it's faster? I cut my teeth loading on a friends Projector and the only thing I can figure out is you must save time when your...

    .308 IMI Brass?

I like IMI brass, been shooting it since the mid 80's and reloading it without incidend, but all of that has been in 223. I quit buying IMI ammo in the early to mid 90's cause I was buying Winchester Q3131, now isn't that irony that Winchester outsources their Q3131 to IMI these days :p

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

First I really do hope Yellowlab get his machine up and running and if I hand any insight to share I would. Now to the point of only insinuating former Lee Loadmasters owners are idiots but current ones having problems are well alright, that's just lame. What's good for the goose is good for...

Another $50 in parts back to Lee

Well you guess like ???? Uncle Don, what happened to your superior reading skills I told you it was wrong parts! It was assembled with a large primer tube and the rest were small primer parts causing every 10th or so primers to flip. I'm not sure who assembled the press if it was Dillon or a...
