P365 Xmacro is hard to beat. Similar in size to G43x, 17 round mags. Also have regular P365 that uses 10, 12 or 17 round mags. Neither has skipped a beat, FTF, FTE, nothing with assorted FMJ, HP and lightweight frangible projectiles. Highly recommended.

A 9 shot 22LR revolver gets around the rimfire unreliability. Shot placement is everything. Location, location, location. 3-4 hits to critical areas like face should subdue. Personally, it would be in BUG pocket carry status.
Buy 1 good one to have as pattern. Build the remaining <insert your favorite number here that corresponds with your wallet size> as you see fit for purpose, caliber or whim. You'll end up with a dozen pretty quick...
