rc, I was hoping that their lack of craftsmanship would work to my advantage. I assume it would be better to just remove the cylinder rod, which has the center pin incorporated into it, and replace it rather than the whole cylinder assembly. I'm no revolver guy though so I assume much here.
I have posted previously I have a INA Tiger in .38 that has a center pin that just does not protrude quite enough to lock up when the cylinder is closed and ready to do business. Well I found a parts gun on Gunbroker that includes the entire operable cylinder and arm assembly. My question is...
Bought this off Gunbroker (item description below). Should I have any issues fitting this cylinder as a whole or using the pin to replace the old one? It definitely protrudes out more than the one in mine, just as suspected may be the problem.

I need the center pin/cylinder rod on my .38 INA Tiger replaced and found this one on Gunbroker. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=262222880 Any reason it wouldn't work if it is the same length?
A wealth of knowledge my friends, a wealth. Picked up the NuFinish and like it. Loaded 250 rnds in the last couple days. Need some trigger time now. Thanks all and safe and happy shooting!
Yes, those close ups were not very nice to it were they? It actually doesn't look that rough at a glance, in it's defense. Well guys I am glad I asked because I don't know much about wheel guns and looks and sounds like it's not range worthy right now. I tried to get the center pin and...
Here are a few photo's. It is a .38 Special. Notice the thumb release position with cylinder closed and opened. Also the release bolt hole is shown with thumb latch pushed as far to the rear as possible and then fully released. There is also a video link at the end if it works that shows how...
Well you oldfool, no excessive end shake, in fact it is pretty tight end to end. What I am trying to understand is if the center pin protrudes further out when the cylinder is closed and it is engaged into the release bolt hole? Where it is now looking at it with the cylinder open, it barely...
It actually feels like it is locking into the bolt hole better after taking it apart and cleaning and applying oil to some things. The center pin does push in kinda easy and the thumb release is far from all the way pushed back when the cylinder is closed. I can see from previous wear marks...
Mr. Borland
1. Bolt retracts about 3-4mm when the cylinder thumb release is pushed to rear. Seems to be working fine.
2. Sounds like this could be a culprit with the inner spring being to weak, or broke. The center pin barely protrudes from the extractor, maybe 1.5mm? Maybe the thickness of...
It's a S&W knock off by the looks of it. The depth that the ejector rod sits in the rear wall of the frame seems awfully shallow. The thumb piece barely moves 1/16 of an inch and the cylinder is free. Also, with the cylinder closed, you can with just a bump of your palm, pop the cylinder out...
Thanks all. What about Brasso? It's something I have now for my drum cymbals :)
ETA: Never mind I see it's ammonia based and bad for brass if you want it to remain pliable.
I have a Lyman tumbler with, I think plain walnut (maybe cob) shell media in it now. I want to get the brass cleaner and polished but what's the most efficient way to do it? I was given this reloading set up by my brother in law and the media came in a unmarked plastic container is why I am...
Hey Karl how is it going?, I got a Mosin from you a couple years back. Maybe my first, don't remember. Anyway, thanks for the info and just to clarify, the rear sight needs to be drifted to get the firing pin out, that right? Also, it looks like it drifts from L to R from the rear vantage...
I am having 20% FTF with this Polish surplus ammo, all will fire if I double strike though. Take a look at these pics and give me your thoughts and suggestions please. Thank you.
I went to Alliant's website and used the "Ask an Expert" option and emailed one of their staff my loading question. Here was my question...
"I need some start/max info on reloading .45 ACP with Green Dot powder.
The bullets are 230g FMJ, Winchester primers. Thanks. I used 5.4
